Looks like a btlg to me. There's no little R circle after Inuyasha. The fonts are different for the first case and the actual VIZ released titles.

Thats all the evidence I see but don't hold me to it I'm just speculating.

Looks like a bootleg but how many episodes are there per DVD? If there's about 6-7 per disc it's most likely a bootleg.

It's probably a bootleg then since most legal DVDs don't have more then 5 episodes per disc.

That is a bootleg. The legal boxsets look much different, plus the InuYasha logo's different. This is the legal one:

Definitely a boot. The logo isnt quite right and one of the DVDs has a totally different spine design, a dead giveaway.

Alot of DVDs have more than 5 eps per disc and are totally legit. How about Ceres, Celestial Legend, The Slayers, Fushigi Yugi, Fruits Basket...

Ahem. Cool

Anyway, although it's 99.99% to be a boot, we are not sure if Violence lives in North America (looks like that's the case, though), so using Viz's example might not be 100% appropriate.

Violence, why don't you take a picture at the lower half of their backcovers, where copyright and other detailed information locate?

Those Slayers TV series DVDs are even region-free.

There are some legit dvds out there with more than 6 episodes on them. For example, NGE Plat thinpak disc 5 have 6 episodes on it. Dont base the number of episodes per disc on them being bootlegs, only if there is more than 8 on a disc.

There is no way to tell bootlegs from Originals............
i thought i might tell you guys this that, about a year ago i picked up this Full Metal Alchemist DVd volume one, and it is exactly the same as the original. Every thing
1. the art
2. the cover
3. the packaging, as in conventional DVD cover with the cover.
4. the quality
5. no chinese subs as far as i know
6. both audios........
7. i think its region free but no sure what it says on the cover...................
But the thing is i sorta paid $2 for it and its obviously a bootleg.......

eeeer what i want to say is that....................there is no way to tell a original from a bootleg.............overseas or in bulk unless they have some stickers or stuff but they don't do that on every thing do they...............guys here just check the art and thats it...........................
btw this transaction was carried out in south east asia.
