The greatest thing about the Shinchan anime is Shinchan's voice. I reeeeally doubt that there is an American voice actor who can match the hilarity and perfection of whoever does the Japanese voice for Shinchan.

My first reaction was..

OM F**king G

Now, it depends on how Funimation handles this. If they keep it untouched I will love them. If the dub is just as crass, extra bonus points. If they butcher it in order to put it on TV.. Evil or Very Mad

v1cius: It's actually been rumoured to be licensed for a while. I heard at one point, ADV had it. ANS also mentioned Dr. Master delaying publishing of the manga until they released the anime, so I can't wait for it to be re-released. Anyway, FUNi should have gone for this over Conan in the first place.

Finally, no more KIKU-TV VHS tape trading!! Hopefully FUNimation treats the property well and uncut. It works best if it's left uncut.

Just wondering if they will leave the JN Productions Translations in place, or resort to their own in-house translations?

I am so happy right now. Crayon Shin-Chan is one of my favorite comics and I'm dying to see episodes Masaaki Yuasa worked on. Excellent news!

Seems like Funi is trying really hard to draw in more of the adult swim fans. Or is it just me?

Yuck!

Why did they license this when more higher quality titles like, Mushishi, Zettai Shonen, Air, Pale Cocoon, Space Symphony Maetel, Angel Heart and Noein go unlicensed?

I can only hope that they have licensed Holic TV in addition to Tsubasa RESERVoir Chronicles TV.

I am truly disappointed in FUNimation.

this really does not excit me at all

I love Crayon Shin-Chan but you can probably create an extra season out of off the edits.

Also a lot of things are cultural so they are probably going to Americanize it.

Action Kamen will probably turn into Silly Action Man

good-bye Mr. Elephant Anime cry

Indeed. The Air fansubs sit on my hard drive, rather than my DVD shelf, as I watch series after series get licensed before it, almost always a series I have no interest in seeing. I still wonder what a dub for Air might be like. Sad

Fact of the matter is, Disney had an option on it for the last 4 years, but they never excercised it.

The release date is late 2007? We're in early 2006! That's a really long time from now!
