I can't decide which anime I want to get next I have it narrowed down to Scrapped Princess, Please Teacher and Please Twins, or Elfen Lied. If I could get some opinions it would be much appreciated.

I want to recommend Elfen Lied since it's the only one I've actually seen and it is a really great, and graphic, story, but I've heard great stuff about Scrapped Princess. Scrapped Princess does not have the crazy violence Elfen Lied does so if you like more gore go with Elfen Lied. You can't go wrong with these two.

I havn't seen Please Teacher or Twins but this link to a recent post may answer your question or narrow your choices.

Elfin Lied - If you like gore and some humor.
Scrapped Princess - Has humor and more character development.
I haven't seen any of the please series, but from what I was told they are more echhi humour.

I'd personally go with Scrapped Princess for the character development.

I've seen all of Please Teacher!, Please Twins!, and Elfen Lied. I've seen one episode of Scrapped Princess. I can say that Elfen Lied is my favorite out of them. IMO it had a better story, better artwork, and better music than both of the Pleases (Although, I probably like KOTOKO's songs better than Lilium, but I'm not really a fan of classical type music). I need to warn you though that Elfen Lied has a lot of graphic violence and nudity. The romance in the Pleases beat Elfen Lied's romance. Elfen Lied is overall much better though. I haven't seen enough of Scrapped Princess to accuratly evaluate it. I can say that it quickly became one of my friend's favorite anime though. I've heard it is very good. I liked the first episode I saw.

I have watched both Scrapped Princess and Elfen Lied. Genres difference apart I prefer Scrapped Princess. It's more easy-watching, it's a good fantasy (and there are not many out there) and the story is well developed (consider it got the double of Elfen Lied's episodes, therefore more longevity).

Definitely Scrapped Princess. Pleasing art and animation, good music, nice character development and some surprising twists to the story. Some episodes into the anime you might think it's going to be like a certain blockbuster movie but just continue watching.

Elfen Lied would be my second choice. Of course, if you have hang-ups about gore and nudity you might want to avoid it.

Please Teacher was okay but the older you are the more likely it is that the student-teacher relationship will mar the pleasure.

Haven't seen Please Twins but going by reputation it seems people like it about as much as Please Teacher.

I'd say "Scrapped Princess" as well, much more satisfying series overall although I'm not altogether familiar with "Please Teacher" or "Please Twins" as generally that type of show doesn't interest me. "Elfen Lied" is an interesting show but I don't think it's really anything that great, the story has a lot of depth but it is very short and can be a bit disturbing here and there, to some more so than others.

I've heard that please Teacher and Please Twins are good I would like to see those. My friend has Elven Leid and it's really bloody and violent I don't like it because I don't like to see alot of blood. I haven't really heard anything of Scrapped princess though

haven't seen any of Pleases, but Elfen Lied and Scrapped Princess are both very good.

Fellow ANN-ers have provided descriptions for both. MY advice - throw the coin and let it decide, both are great and no loss in seeing them, but Scrapped Princess could be better off first, because Elfen Lied makes quite many Animes afterward seem quite well.. not so stunning.

Hope this helped. ^^

I've only seen Elfen Lied.

If extreme violence and gore doesn't bother that's okay. Like seriously, the first 5 minutes are the most graphic...well as far as I've seen. I only have 2 DVD's so I've seen half of the series so far.

The thing to keep in mind is that this show is very dark. It deals with some very disturbing subject matter that can turn many people off like spoiler[ the character Maya, who was sexual abused by her step-father and in one of the episodes, there are three boys beat a puppy to death.]

If your going to pick this up, think long and hard before you purchase. Still, I really enojy Elfen Lied for it's art, music and storytellin, however disturbing it may be.

I have watched all those titles and they all have good points in their own ways, but with the exception of the two Please priductions, the categories for them all are completly different. Out Of all of them i would have to reccomend Scrapped Princess if you like adventure anime with a hint of comedy and drama. The show itself has a VERY RPG feel to it. It is also one of those shows that just really succeeds in attempting to mix science-fiction with fantasy.

Elfin Lied is visually astounding and has truly spine shaking music, but once you get past the blood and the death and whatnot, you realize the story is very simple. Not that its not enjoyable, but If you like horror, go with this.

If you like comedy/romance/drama go with the Please stuff. Both are different, with Teacher focusing more on growing romance and Twins focusing more on life situations and familial ties.

In short I would reccomend ALL OF THESE. Not right away of course, but it is also worthy to note that with the exception of scrapped princess, all those other series are mini-series that last around 13 episodes. If you do not wish to put a lot of time into an anime consider the other three. Hope this helps.[/b]

Go with Scrapped Princess. The artwork is good and the voice actors are excellent. Miki Shinichiro & Crispin Freeman are the voices for Shannon Cassul, and both are excellent as always.

I haven't seen either of the Please's and I still have to finish Elfen Lied. Elfen Lied is a great, emotional show so far, and definately worth a watch. I would say though that Scrapped Princess is definately something worth watching. Even if you don't decide to watch it next, make sure you come back to it.

IMHO you should watch Sccapped Princess next.

I really enjoyed both Scrapped Princess and Elfen Lied. The main shock value of Elfen is presented from the first episode. After that the character and plot coast comfortably to it's concluding episode. I don't know if there would be enough material to span beyond 13 episodes since there are small moments when the series seems to repeat itself. Scrapped Princess feels like a novel turned into a series. The dynamics of the plot and characters seem constantly in flux. By the end of the series I was wondering if the series should have been longer. I've yet to reflect on the last voume since I just watched it, but on my first impression it felt very packed. I believe you should decide between the two based off of series length since they are both amazing series.
