Wow, after seeing Beyblade a while back, I thought, Hey, can it get any worse than this. Naturally, I thought nope. I was wrong. Enter Battle B'Daman. Who would even comprehend that a show about shooting marbles at eachother would be good. Is anybody like me out there who thinks this is the most stupid and pointless show ever... Question

Well there is a show about a guy who bakes bread and competes against other guys who also bake bread. I've never seen it but I heard it is not a bad show! (Yakitate Japan or something like that)

Hey! Yakitate Japan is a great, hilarious series. Its like DBZ with bread, only it doesnt drag so long. Though all the other elements are met. People with powers Beyond human (concerning bread making), every few episodes they get a stronger "villain" who just may "beat them this time". That said, there is ONE central antagonist, around whose actions the Real plot tightens.
Yakitate is funny to the core. Especially with Suwabara - the bread making samurai Very Happy so dont dis it until you`ve seen it.

I'll second the vote on how good Yakitate!! Japan is.

But I always have a hell of a time explaining it to people.

Friend "So what is the anime about?"
Me "It's about baking bread......"
Friend : Gives stranger looks than normal (When discussing anime) Rolling Eyes

Note: I haven't seen either of those animes so this response might be a little off topic but in response to Luminal:

I don't think I've laughed as much watching any anime as much as I did watching Yakitate! Japan (although I've only seen the first season). The normal flow of the anime isn't really that funny, but Kuroyanagi Ryo's insane reactions to the bread that he tastes during the competitions are the funniest thing I've seen in my life. It's actually a pretty good anime compared to many others imo.

Actually, I don't need to watch Beyblade or Battle B'Daman to agreee with you that they're horrible. The ANN ratings for Beyblade and Battle B'Daman pretty much say "do not watch this anime unless you want to suffer a horribly traumatic event."

Hey I'm not dissing it, I even said I heard it was not a bad show. I was just pointing out to Anime_Newcomer that even if an idea for a show sounds like a ridiculous idea (like playing with tops, playing with marbles or baking bread) it doesn't mean the show is bad.

I sorta got the impression that he wasnt talking about the general idea but the overall shows, which ARE bad. Though wouldnt it be super to actually have Pokemon in a modern world? That would be awesome Very Happy

What are you talking about? What isn't cool about kids throwing marbles at each other?

Well if you can make a cool anime about baking bread you can certainly make a cool anime about throwing marbles. I understand however that was not the case.

However, to answer your question, well throwing marbles is not the most exciting activity normal people would enjoy watching right? I think I'd rather watch people playing golf. Or even someone painting a house... Rolling Eyes

They made a show about bread. I have no reservations that you just gave some Japanese entertanment executive his next brilliant idea.

Also, Anime_Newcomer, stop with the vague thread titles.

Hey if they've made an anime about Mahjong soo who knows. I actually found that show to be quite interesting though. Its called Akagi and i'm not sure if theres a manga for it but yeah pretty interesting. Now back on topic its not that bad of a sho, not great either but a good way for me too kill time when I have no new anime to view.

"Believe it!"
