Which would you consider the coolest, most original, most awe inspiring attack you have ever seen in a combat anime?
For me it would have to be Orochimaru's reanimated dead jutsu. When he did this attack to the 3rd Hokage and he brough the spirits of the 1st and 2nd hokages to fight against Sarutobi I was like "that's not fair, can he really do that?!". I was shocked and my respect for Orochimaru increased tenfold. I have never seen anything similar in any other anime.
What would be the best attacks you've ever seen?

Well, since you mentioned someone from Naruto my first thought is Itachi's sharingan hallucination move. I thought that was so awesome. Defintely unique and evil. Actually almost everyone in Naruto has some pretty awesome attacks. Gaara's powers are also one of my favorites from any anime i've seen.
My next thought is Kuchiki Byakuya's Senbonsakura Kageyoshi, simply because it is one of the most beautiful attacks i've ever seen. I love watching it, because although it looks nice it's also extremely powerful and deadly. The first time I saw it I was speechless.
And of course in FFVII:AC Clouds omnislash towards the end. I was waiting for it the entire time and then when it finally happened I was so psyched.

I don't know if I should find it funny or outright pathetic that about 3/4 of this thread—many of the posters being veterans of this forum who damn well know the rules—replied with list posts, had their posts deleted for it, and without missing a beat reposted them exactly to the letter.
Next time that happens the thread is locked.

The Death Tree attack that Yoko Kurama used in that one Episode of Yuyu Hakusho when they were all in the cave and he used it on Elder Toguro. HE couldn't die so instead of killin him he was forced to witness nightmares for "eternity". Best I've seen. And Maybe the Dragon of the Darkness Flame by Hiei but when used it against that flame guy during the Dark Tornament it was kinda garbaege but when he did it against Bui and they drowned it out by like an extra 16 minutes it had to be the best thing on television. But by far the best Attack would have to be attacks that Naru uses on Keitaro in Love Hina. The Ice Cutting Uppersut or something attack that she used and he made him skip on the water: classic.

Ok i'll repost but with more detail this time.........wait was I considered as one of those mentioned veterans?
Anyways for me the coolest attack would be the Kyouka Suigetsu which is actually the name of Aizen's Zanpak-toh but when he releases his Zanpak-toh into its Shikai form it gives Aizen the Ultimate attack. It gives Aizen the ability of complete hypnosis which he used to take down 2 captains with their Bankai's released and Ichigo as well as Renji. Seeing as he could take on 4 very powerful opponents with just that attack it seems like that would be my choice of best and coolest attack.
Another cool attack is by the release of Captain Tousen's Bankai Suzumi\ushi Tuisushiki - Enma Kourogi. With the release the bankai form surrounds the enemy in a pitch black like arena where all sense are numbed except touch. This attack is almost perfect if not for the fact that once a person can figure out the strategy that Kenpachi used. Making an opponent feel how Tousen does using that technique is one of the most unique in my mind.

The Spin Dash in Sonic X - methinks, was brilliantly animated and very attractive for much of the earlier series. In the rest of the Sonic the Hedgehog cartoons, it had always resembled either a spinning razorblade or even some malformed spiny kitten, but SONIC project executed this famous video game attack with a full CG. Was also a nice sight to see whenever a character other than Sonic performs it, whether it be Shadow, Emerl, or even Knuckles and Sonic fusing a special attack together from time to time. 'Tis a shame that we never see other characters like Tails perform it; I'd love to see an orange Spin Dash with tails twirling at its end.
Yeah, I'm lame. But I don't regularily watch a lot of series with much action.

One of my favorite attacks is, in Bleach, Kuchiki Byakuya'ssenbonzakura kageyoshi, all three forms. the first from is just plain beautiful, while it can still kill you 1 million times. the annialtion scape just looks plain kickass. so many swords all set and ready to kill just sends chills down my spine. the the final form is awesome to. again, its very beautiful. and just plain senbonzakura is awesome to.

It was in the manga but whatever: Houshin Engi, during the Chou Koumei fight When Taikoubou flies up with Suupuushan all the way up to the very end of the atmosphere(stratosphere?) and flies back down top speed bringing down all the cold air with the Dashinben and completely freezing Chou Koumei
Now that's pure unadulterated pwnage.

It would REALLY help if SOME indication was given that it wasn't just a glitch in the system or screw-up due to lag (which I do have from time to time). I've never in my life encountered another board on which posts just vanish without a trace. On any other board posts are either blanked with a "(post deleted)" message of some kind, or a PM is sent to let you know that your post was vanished.
Of course, I've also never encountered any other board with such capricious rules as "no lists in a thread that's clearly about lists, and which everybody seems to be enjoying".
If you randomly delete postsfor no apparent reason and with no indication that they had ever been posted in the first place, what do you expect to happen?

Amen
ah now I have to reply to the thread...ummm...hmm...how about...
FF VII AC clouds final attack against Sephiroth. I don't think that can be called omnislash because it clearly wasn't. But it was still incredibly bad ass.
Also, Rurouni Kenshins Amekakaru (sp?) and his nine headed dragnon strike, cant remember the japanese name but its bad ass

Amakakeru Ryuu no Hirameki and Kuzu Ryuu Sen.
Uh.. other than clarifying that, I don't really have a favorite attack. Oh wait, I remember. Kurapica's Judgement Chain from Hunter X Hunter. The idea of peircing someone's heart with a chain made out of Nen is cool. Not only is it easily concealable, but it can be the ultimate weapon of both negotiation and instant death.

I completely agree with that. I have never seen a forum with such strict and capricious rules. However, if you want to continue using the forum there is no other choice but to follow the rules.
I just wish the moderators had a bit more tact and 'moderation'. Being called pathetic, having your post disappear without a trace and/or having your thread locked just because someone else didn't follow the rules are not exactly ways to have a happy and enjoyable forum.

Chii's explosive attack in Chobits when she got 'captured' and used as a peeper-house girl.
Why?
Because it got activated when the guy tried to touch her ecchi!. I still don't really get how that works, but that's one high-tech chastity belt.

From what I can think of right now, the first attack which I think is by far the best, is... without being able to think of the exact name for it, is from Tsukihime, Shiki Tohno's 17 Dissection. The attack is virtually flawless, and can destroy close to anything, including immortals, so long as it can be precieved. The fact that it not only utilisizes Shiki's eyes, but his Nanaya assassin blood as well, implies a ridiculious level of skill in pulling it off.
As for attacks that are a bit more exclusive to games, Arcueid's Melty Blood is not only really neat in concept, but looks really sweet in execution as well. Ciel's "The Seventh Scripture: Forgiving the Original Sin", just plain looks really really cool. Finally, Nanaya's Ultimate Death is just plain badass. Plain and simple.
Reaching outside of Type-Moon, my single favorite move is most definately Hotaru Futaba's Ten Shou Ran Ki. Anyone who knows what I'm talking about probably knows just as well why I love it so much. =P
