Looks like the Gunbuster license is expired.
Maybe now someone will pick it up and release a R1 DVD.

More like, when's ADV making the annoucement, and where do I pay!

...and here I was, thinking Manga would finally come back to relevance - especially if they also snapped up Gunbuster 2. Well, in any case, means I no longer have to worry about finding volumes 2 and 3 on VHS (...I picked 1 up for a dollar recently, still shrink-wrapped)

Question So then does this mean that someone actually has the licenses for both Gunbuster and Diebuster? Very Happy

Ditto on that!

Well, I picked up most of what was on the list some while back. But as far as the 'Gunbuster' license, it's finally brought to fans attention as being expired and not lost in the woodworks, which was mentioned. Fans had been wondering who had the rights to it now but no one could verify that info. So now it's up for grabs. More than likely with 'GB2' on the helm, this will give it a push. But the original 'GB' doesn't need a push.

As for the 'Guyver OVA', more than likely someone will pick it up. Now that the new series is on the rise... much possibilities.

Man, what the heck does Manga even have left? GitS, Macross Plus, the X Movie, the EVA movies, Ninja Scroll....? I was hoping the success of Stand Alone Complex would kick off some sort of renaissance for them, as I loved all the early Manga releases (anything pre-Mad Bull 34, in other words).

But heck, as long as Gunbuster gets a DVD release, I'll be happy.

ADV shouldn't just pick up the Gunbuster license, they should also pick up the Diebuster (Top wo Nerae 2) license along with that.

So when and where do I pay for my R1 Gunbuster DVD? Smile *has credit card ready*

[Gunbuster? Damn straight. I hope someone snatches up the license to this series as well. This was one of the very first anime titles I picked up and I hope someone releases it with an English dubbed and Subtitled track as well.

I would take a bet the while ADV Films could snatch up this license that I would expect that Bandai Entertainment or Geneon Animation could pick up the license to this anime.

Worth noting that a large number of those titles are Bandai Visual properties.

Perhaps BVUSA is planning to release them as well ?

If I were a betting man, my money would be on that.

Amen to this! How many of us have been waiting forever for a good copy of Wings of Honneamise? Some of us have worn out our VHS copies which look better than the current DVD. Criterion, where are you when we need you?
