You're talking as if people like Phillip Seymour Hoffman and Daniel Day Luis (has been primarily acting in US films over the last... wow this guy actually doesn't show up often; lol) don't still act or people like Martin Scorsese aren't still out there making movies.
People need to stop saying stupid things; this generalization of American filmmaking is almost as irritating to me as the generalization that anime doesn't have interesting output anymore.
(that said, both industries are likely infuriating in their current states, but this doesn't negate all the interesting stuff that still comes out)
But then, whatever...
I'm actually still kinda shaken up after Sidney Lumet's death, so I'm not one to talk given how divested I am in film in general nowadays.

This habit you have of outright attacking people of certain nationalities and spitting out constant streams of hate speech and prejudice is not going to be tolerated any longer. Your constant need to find excuses to outright insult and attack entire groups is not acceptable and this is your last warning. Do it one more time and you will be moderated or banned.

Huh, all this time everybody said Kenshiro inspired Joutaro. Basing him off of Clint Eastwood makes sense, after all Joutaro has the ultimate poker face.

You can pretty much enjoy JoJo without knowing the references, but if you look close enough, you'll find layer upon layer upon layer of influences or homages to famous Western movies, novels, songs, music bands, fashion designers or art.
Stephen King, for example. And his Cujo.
