What is your favorite anime soundtrack, not just intro and outro themes I mean overall.
Mine would have to be Cowboy Bebop I just love all the music with its mixtur of Jazz, Blues, Rock, and Classical it's just awesome, I shiver at the last episodes ending theme every time. Peace out.

I'm not into soundtracks all that much. Too repetative, goes nowhere, and just 'noise' to me. No obvious flow, just whatever they care to play at any givin moment. Bebop is bizzare with all it's soundtrack cd's. All 11 of them when I can't imagine that much being actually played through the show.

I own very few soundtracks, but my favorite of those is Yoko Kanno's Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex official soundtrack. The reason I bought it was because of Inner Universe and Rise, but I've found I like almost all the tracks. I like the "darkness" of the music (like you find with Yuki Kajiura). There are many other songs, not just pieces of music, which none are in Japanese.

I couldn't agree more with you. I like the Rob Zombie-styled "Run Rabbit Junk" and the indescribable "velveteen"; as well as the Pink Floyd-ish "Syberian Doll House".
Anything that Yoko Kanno does is excellent. Usually if her name is on a project, it's great news.

I have to agree with you, the last episodes theme was great and does give you hat feeling. But I have to say "voices of a distant star" main theme has to be my favorite.

There are lots of good OST.
-D.N.Angel: I like the instrumnetal BGM there is in every chapter, especially Soshite Hitotsu Ni...
-Evangelion: Some songs make me laugh, some songs make me cry, and the tension-filled scenes with that foreboding music make me get goosebumps.
-Captain Tsubasa: I have no words for describing it. It's myu fave series, and it'll always be

I would have to say my fave is the gunslinger girl soundtrack, I especially like the beginning song "The Light Before We Land " Though some of the sadder parts of the show soft sweet music i would have to say that one is the best one, Also Ansia of that soundtrack is exquisite.

I really liked the sountrack to .Hack//Sign. I thought the music was superb and very fitting for the scenes it was placed it. I just thought the style went well with the overall theme of the anime.
Also, the soundtrack to Full Moon wo Sagashite. Because a good portion of the songs are made in the anime itself. And by playing the songs created in the anime it gives the music a more attached feeling to what's actually going on the anime, and it becomes more than just Background Music. The music that plays has a direct connection the every character in the anime and made it more powerful. I also think the songs were beautifully sung and there is so much feeling behind them.
I also think Kaikan Phrase had a great soundtrack for the same reasons as Full Moon. Most of the music came from the characters themselves. Also, the music was very catchy and really lifted my spirits. I also like how the music has words, whereas a lot of sountracks are just instrumental. Words compliment instruments in conveying the meaning of the song to the listener. Sometimes it's more somber to just have instrumentals, but I feel words make a song much more powerful and meaningful. I loved Kaikan Phrase so much I now have a lot of the music from the band formed after the anime was made, /\ucifer. I feel in love with the music immediately, even though it's normally not my style.

Oh, I love classical music so if i read "anime soundtrack", the first thing that comes to my mind is Evangelion, it has some of my favourites compositions ever like J.S.Bach's cantanta N147 and Air on SOL (G), also Pachelbel's Kanon in re (D) mayor and some Beethoven's nice music there hahaha.
Also the original compositions in Eva are good, but the best original compositions in anime are Seikou Nagaoka's compositions, maybe the ones in the first OVA series of Tenchi Muyo! There were so many wonderful songs like the opening, well, i also like progressive music so obviously i like that. El Hazard music is also great, i really love when anime don't follow the 99% true rule "opening= nice, happy and easy to sing melody, ending= sad and melancholic" and use progressive instrumental music.

my favourite is Fruits Basket "Memory For You" beacause it's the only one I own. I've briefly listened to the Samurai Champloo OST, and It's quite enjoyable.
