This series has been absolutely incredible and got me into reading manga in the first place. I'm a little sad to see him finish, but its certainly been leading up to in the last few volumes.

As sad as I'll be to see it go, I'm really happy that it will have a proper conclusion. Now if only Berserk would start to wrap up...

I'm really glad to see so many of these "big name" titles (well at least to American manga fans) wrapping up. Long running titles are great, but sometimes a series is only as good as its ending, and running on far to long have been the death (or at least a mortal wound) for many good series.
Granted, I'm assuming that these endings are good, which is a bit of an expectations leap, but still.
And besides that, if they run on to long and aren't the biggest sellers, I'm dubious to their chances of being fully released over here.

It's been obvious for a while, so it's nice to have confirmation. Blade of the Immortal was one of my first serious manga titles, and it's been a great, sometimes bumpy ride.
Given how things are coming to a head in volume 29, it should be a helluva finish. Now if only Dark Horse could speed up their release schedule.

Don't expect that for a good few years (or decade).

Cool. I'm glad that we're moving toward a conclusion but at the same time we (western readers) still have a good five volumes to go and at the rate Dark Horse publishes them that'll last at least a couple more years if not longer. I'm not ready to be done with this series quite yet.

I'd be happy if Berserk just developed a bit more. It's still a great series I think but it has never quite recaptured the magic of the golden age arc. (Where as Blade of the Immortal on the other hand has only gotten better and better with each arc). There's been plenty of great character development with Guts and his posse but little to no plot development for them throughout the Millennium Empire arc (and thus far, Fantasia has been even worse). There has been plenty going on with Griffith plot-wise but at this point he (or at least his current incarnation) is kind of a non-character as it the bulk of his group of followers so this doesn't really carry the story either. I feel like they really need to unite these two disparate parts of the story for it to shine again.

I love me Berserk. But yes it's been taking wayyy too long for Team Guts to get to this damn island! I hope he hires more help so he can continue to pump them out on a monthly basis.

I would hope this means a new adaptation of this will come soon.

One of the early English manga hits. Back then, bookstores would always stock this, among only a few others.

One needs to learn about a couple thousand kanji to read J-newspapers. For comparison, we were reading English newspapers in grade school.

While I'm not a fan of the cutting and pasting, I'm glad they didn't stop doing it midway through the run. I like that the format will stay consistent from beginning to end. Also, I don't really notice it once I get into the story.
Dark Horse has hinted that they will do something special with this series once they reach the end of the current edition. Up until now, they didn't know how long it would run.
I should give props to Dark Horse for their "Art of" book, which was actually superior to the Japanese edition and reasonably priced.
It will be bittersweet to see this series wrap up after so many years with these characters, but I'm looking forward to it.

I love me some BOTI, but I think it's about time it wrapped up now. Have been following the manga through raws lately and while it was always thrilling to read it also started to feel like a beat'em up game where Samura wanted to try every pairing possible for the fights.
