Crunchyroll has this week's episode listed as Episode 36, "Storm Warning!" That means that something is amiss in your story. Either it ends with Episode 37, or yesterday's was the finale. Which is it?

Thanks for the shoutout! I was actually watching yesterday's episode when this story came up on Twitter. It's been a fun series and actually got me to enjoy a sports anime, a genre I rarely watch!

Yeah, I'm sad to hear that will be the last episode. I wish we could see a more complete ending, but maybe later or with OVAs?

I'm amused that this never got a physical disc release. I mean, it has to be legendary terrible/unpopular to accomplish that.

Bandai lists DVD volumes 1-6, but it appears they were released for rental only.

That's surprising. Since the show kept going after episode 25, which could have worked as a finale, I thought it would run at least until the end of the year, but I guess the ratings just weren't cutting it, and the writing was on the wall after the sponsor change. Now I'm bracing myself for an even more unsatisfying ending than I was originally expecting.

Yeah, I thought everything got released no matter what. And I didn't realize that something could be released for rental only. I don't think there is an equivalent in North America of that, but I could be wrong.

I was surprised that it got extended past two seasons ... and equally unsurprised that it got the ax after three. Its clearly been running on close to the smallest possible budget and still be doing more than just putting up the manga panels with a soundtrack.

I can't be the only person ticked off about the fact that this is ending in the middle of ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING. If they were going to give it the axe, the very least they could have done was not do it in the middle of a plotline. Maybe at the end of the last tournament? It would have been a rather downer ending, but it would have been the ending of an arc.

It's not my favorite, but I've been watching it every week since it started...I can't be the only person irritated about it just...ending.
