She's not good-looking enough for a starring role, but she's not exactly ugly.

I know the perfect character to start off her career:
Haruka Izumi from Frogman.
That is, if it ever gets an anime adaptation...

There are several actors/actresses in the mainstream who would disagree with you on that one.

A common joke amongst voice actors is that they got into VO as a professional (opposed to other forms of acting) because they "have a face for radio".

That's the joke about radio DJs in the US. They always say they have a face for radio.

Anyways, I don't see why all the hatred for Satomi-san. It's no different than US atheletes going to Hollywood and wanting to be movie or tv stars. A few were able to take thier Olympic medals do okay. I wish her all the luck in her dream. One day we'll hear her on tv.
