My Arjuna soundtrack CD came in and I'm loving it. It came with a promotion card inside, "buy 4 Anime soundtrack CDs and get 1 free". I was kinda interested so I started reading the details, when I saw it is good until Semptember 30th..... 2004. RightStuf, you'll have more luck getting money out of me if you send me slightly more up-to-date promotions... Neutral

I bought the Cowboy Bebop Remix DVD Collection a couple days ago from RightStuf. I haven't bought it before because I figure it'll be in print forever, but $30 is a nice price for 26 eps so I got it.

I finally sat down with a big glass of water (well, really it's supposed to be a vase, it even has, "Daffodil Days," written on it, but my brother and I always just used them as huge water glasses) read some manga, volumes three and four of Reiko the Zombie Shop after having just not having been able to get around to it for a month. I enjoyed this a lot, so I inspired to add some more to an order on Amazon.com

Manga
Reiko the Zombie Shop (volumes 5 and 6)

Reiko the Zombie Shop is wonderfully excessive, trashy fun where a lot of wildly ridiculous gory spectacles happen. I think it loses some of its heart when it strays into some shōnen fighting stuff, but that's never enough to really drag it down. This order does, however, end the series for me as Dark Horse found it uneconomical to publish the remaining volumes. I'd considering importing the Japanese versions of the last four, but they're out of print and there are no scans to read. Perhaps some day...

Well, probably not, but I'll take what I can get.

Thanks to TRSI's new-ish tracking of international packages system, I know that an attempt was made to deliver my latest package this afternoon (while I was at work, natch) and so it will now be waiting for me at a postal outlet near my place.

When I actually pick it up and bring it into my swinging pad, it will mark the first time since Nov. 18, 2010 that I haven't had a TRSI package waiting in the docket (due to pre-ordered items or temporary non-availability of stock). So for the first time in many, many moons, my entire anime collection and virtually all my related merchandise will be under my roof. Feels weird. The only pre-ordered items I have now are two figures from Japan (Meat and Sudsy Hinako who has been delayed so many times I don't really believe she's ever coming).

Oh and my copy of Otaku Japan's Database Animals arrived today as well and I can't wait to read it. Once I've done so, I'll be one of the few ANN posters who will be able to discuss "moe" as the Japanese actually understand the term as opposed to the 1 million different shades of moe we try to grapple with here.

Since companies no longer license anime soundtracks as stand-alone items, good luck seeing a more up-to-date promotion Laughing

Very Happy Hopefully you enjoy it! (I love it so much.) Also, welcome fellow Pennsylvanian! Enjoy your stay here, how ever short or long it may be.

I forgot to mention that I bought The Drops of God Vol. 1 just recently from Amazon. I want to get the rest of it, but I still need to gather some more funds for a takeover of Twin Spica and other manga....

I'm not sure if I look forward to or fear that day. On the hand it'd be cool to know that my want list is shortening. On the other hand, my want list would be shortening. It really is like Christmas when the mailman delivers a package. Just today, actually, my mailman delivered my fifth volume for the AnoNatsu BD, and it felt great signing for it. The feeling of opening the mailbox and seeing a package in there is wonderful. I mean, it's not the end of the world to know a package won't be coming for me (actually, it might be), but it'd be a bit of a downer.

Right now the only disc media I have on order is the Freezing LE, which won't ship for a few weeks, but I do plan on putting in an order for Shana II, Steins;Gate, and more One Piece pretty soon, so that'll give me more stuff to look forward to.

I remember when I first broke into the scene I never preordered due to some ridiculous fear. Now I can't imagine not having open orders. My, how I've evolved.

I don't think I ever have to worry about my "want" list drying up. Just because I don't (currently) have any anime on order, doesn't mean I don't have a shee-itload of titles I want, want, want (must have). My TRSI "save for later" list alone has almost 200 TV titles on it.

@ Blood-
I don't actually have a "want list". Pretty much everything I wanted, I bought as it came out. I do have some series with multiple singles that I would replace with a box set if available. I guess it helps that I started collecting before DVDs. Laughing

To me, this was by far the worst result of the collapse of Geneon here in North America. Most of their anime titles managed to get rescued (more or less), but they were the one company putting out anime soundtracks here and now we have none.

I don't mind buying imports if it's something I really like, but I'm not likely to take a chance on an expensive import soundtrack like I did several times on the domestic releases. I'm just glad that I bought most of the ones that I wanted when they were still available, but I'd sure like to see some new ones released (like the soundtrack for PMMM.)

Just paid for my latest order from AmiAmi, consisting of the Yamada Nendoroid(sadly the last in the WORKING!! line, it seems), a Rathalos(or "random dragon", as I call it in my mind) Revoltech, another Touhou figure(AmiAmi says this one is Yuyuko Saigyouji) and some Medaka Box bookmarks(soon I can stop using pieces of paper stolen from work!).

Oddly, despite the extra figure, this one landed in the same weight bracket as the last package, which means the difference between SAL parcel and EMS was a paltry ¥250(I thought about splitting it to try getting things sent small packet, but I never so much as asked AmiAmi for a quote).

Put in my next manga order. This time it's focused on Kodansha titles since that's the TRSI sale. Like a lot of my manga orders these days, it's mostly preorders, but that's good. Spreads the damage out more. Picked up

Arisa vol. 1
Fairy Tail vol. 20
Fairy Tail vol. 21
Fairy Tail vol. 22
Genshiken: Second Season vol. 1
Negima vol. 35
Negima vol. 36
Sailor Moon vol. 6
Sailor Moon vol. 7
Sailor Moon vol. 8
Wandering Son vol. 3

That last one isn't a Kodansha title, but since I'm making an order figured I'd tack it on. I'm kinda surprised at how few items I ordered. I thought I was following more Kodansha titles than that. It's kinda why I added Arisa on there. Figured I'd give it a shot and see if it's something I can get behind. Seems I'm mainly a Viz and Yen Press sort of guy since I have a ton of those on order.

It also seems I forgot to mention that I put in an order for the GSC Sena Kashiwazaki figure the other day. If I can ever manage to stop buying figures, I'm not sure what I'll do with all that extra money. Probably waste it on frivolous crap.

Gonna put in an order with GSC Online Shop for re-release of Saber Lily Golden Caliburn 1/7 scale when order window opens 8/6 (Mon) 2200 JST. Missed this version of Saber last time, won't this time.

I spied something on Amazon.com that I decided to act upon.

Anime
Princess Tutu (volume 1)

I am not ordering the whole series now, but I know that I'll want it and there was only one new copy of the first volume listed and at a very digestible price. Perhaps I'll get the rest as a birthday present to myself. For now, this is to show that I'm committed... to a mental institution... for having mistakenly believed that I was entitled to speak on the floor of the Pennsylvania Senate and called for a point of order by doing the chicken dance naked... while they were out of session and there was a church tour group passing through. I'm not supposed to get things from the outside, but I tell the staff that anime stops me from calling all of the orderlies Suzy and believing that they want to steal my beard to make organic tampons to sell to horrible aging hippy women.
