Correction: Funimation did license the movie, titling it "Heaven's Lost Property the Movie: The Angeloid of Clockwork."

Tbh, I sort of felt like the super deflat form of Tamaki prevented this from becoming a stronger series. If they took out most of that, this series could have some serious potential.

I'm still looking forward to Season III though

I must be the ONLY anime fan who actually likes audio commentaries.

*it's you're

I can't really agree with you giving this show a C, it is far better than the first season - yes, it is mindless ecchi crap, but it is entertaining
I actually do not like the deep seriousness at times and do not want more of it.

commentaries are a good addition - only when they are entertaining
I dont own the DVD so i can't say

Sadly, I have no plans to purchase this DVD until it's on sale. I am putting my foot down and will not buy down-scaled anime; though i did make an exception for maria holic alive as that is a niche series. I was very happy with my first season of sora oto* though and was looking forward to owning the second season more.

anyway, this second season is what really defined the characters and I think it is what raised the popularity of the series, at least maybe in japan.

I felt the same way after the removal of the BD but then Best Buy had it on sale for less than 20 dollars. No matter how you look at it, or like the show for that matter, it was worth it.

I like the show, I see the problems, I don't care. Really, the biggest problem in my mind is the lack of nudity. It doesn't make the show tame, it makes it seem cowardly.

I would pick this up, but Kadokawa Pictures isn't getting a dime from me until they at least explain their reasoning behind restricting international territories from getting a Blu-Ray version.

It's either reverse importation fears, or that they just want to be dicks. Either way they're dicks, so there's not much distinction to us. If their reasoning is based on "contractual technicalities" or something of the like, we can immediately call BS on that. The way that works too, that you have to wait until that year has passed, leaves no doubt that it's about domestic sales loss.

Of course it's reverse importation fears. When they see stuff like this or this popping up that has the full series for less than the cost of a single volume then they're damn hard pressed to be fearful. The entirety of the late night anime industry hinges upon otaku buying anime at a really high price.

And, yet there is no reverse importation fear from Taiwanese releases? The movie was released in Taiwan on blu-ray - maybe it was licensed before Kadokawa clamped down?

TW licensors are still slowly getting BD rights and they are still more expensive than cheap US boxsets, but they they are still much, much cheaper than the JP releases. I guess we'll see as more TW BDs are released - especially Kadokawa stuff.

If I had to guess, I'd wager that forced subtitles are probably a bit more effective when you're dealing with a busy script(and traditional Chinese is very busy).

This is one of those shows that I feel like would be infinitely improved by removing or supplanting the protagonist with someone a little more likable.

That's assuming forced subtitles. I wonder if anyone who actually has the TW BD release can chime in or not.

Also, traditional Chinese subs aren't that much busier than English subtitles.

I think the series deserves a better rating but the thing about comedy is it's very hit or miss. What's a "flat" joke to one person is a very subjective thing. I will agree that Tomoki's a bit too crass, but it's not real and I can easily just ignore that, especially because he's appropriately beaten down for it in most cases.
