If your looking for a good soundtrack and don't have either of the first two FLCL soundtracks, get the third one. It gathers a lot of the best songs from the show and also gives you longer versions of what's on the other soundtracks. Curiously, Happy Bivouac is still not on this CD. Guess it's rights issue.
If you want more, move to Penalty Life which is licensed, as well. If your desire remains unsated wait to see if Good Dreams gets licensed. If it does it'll be a damn sight cheaper than importing it. Besides the songs in the above post some of my favorites include: Back Seat Dog, Good Dreams, Fool on the Planet, Freebee Honey, Xavier and Rosy Head. But, all of their songs are good. Far and away the most used CD's I've ever owned. |

I love the Pillows. I have the FLCL soundtrack 3, I would say every song is great.

I am also an avid fan of the pillows. In March i went to the show they did at Knitting Factory in NYC. It was such a great experience. This released the band released a new single "the third eye" and the new album "my foot" is to be released January 12th 2006.

I'm pretty sure they did all the music for FLCL. If they didn't, then the remaining songs were all orchestrated. All the songs with lyrics were definitely by the Pillows. |

I went to that show, too! Just as I entered, Sawao Yamanaka was standing there. I got him to autograph my Little Busters CD and gave him an article that I wrote about them in my college paper. He was grateful that I was spreading the word to non-otakus. (Let me know if you want me to post that article here.) |

I agree. There came a time when I had to get all of their albums. I based my decision that their music is very important to me and it was worth owning instead of just having a couple mp3s. I currently own all of the Pillows' albums except for "cool SPICE" and "White Incarnation". If I had to pick a single album, it would have to be "Fool On The Planet". Hah. I knew there'd be a pillows thread somewhere in here. I have a weird question if I may. Listen to these three songs in this order:
1. Ride On Shooting Star 2. I Think I can 3. Carnival What I hear whever I listen to them in this way is 1. A woman, 2. Can't decide and 3. A man. Now you may not because you know that the group is comprised of three male members. But when i first heard these songs I thought ROSS had a woman singing it. ITIC sounds like a transition from female to male in this sequence as well. Can anyone explain this shift from female voice to male voice? |

"My Foot" just came out; and it's their best work since "Happy Bivouac". Not a single song off that album is less than great.
Favorite Track: Sayonara Universe. Sawao goes from channelling McCartney and the Pixies to Pink Floyd. Close your eyes while listening to it; and picture the most beautiful world that eyes have yet to see. |

Really? I listened to those songs in order and I didn't really hear a female voice on any of them. High-pitched male voice, yes...but female? Which part of each song did a female voice pop up? |

I understood that it wasn't female but the fact that it is completely different from everything else I've heard just threw me off and I was wondering why they did that.
