I think I will try to enter. I will get someone at another message board to write up the message in Hiragana and Katakana characters so it will be more acceptable.
Where/How/Why does one get the name "Monkey Punch" from...?? I'm not dissing it or anything, but it just seems like an odd pen name (at least I hope it is his pen name...). |

From an interview I read of his (I think it was linked to from ANN?) his old editor gave it to him. He apparently liked giving western names to the creators he worked with. ...That and his style apparently looked western to them. I heard the Monkey Punch (I think his real name begins with a K?) doesn't actually like his penname, so, hm, yea. I must admit, I've never heard Lupin referred to as "the phantom thief," a term I've heard only applied to Dark Mousy from DNAngel, as people usually call him "Phantom Thief Dark." Was that just a creative use of words by the news poster, or was that gathered from Monkey Punch's actual words? |

He should steal one cherished item each from the homes of Mouse, Saint Tail, Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne, Dark Mousey, and Sly Cooper. Just to show those upstarts who's boss. Exactly what that item should be is up for debate (I was going to suggest underwear, but Sly doesn't even wear pants...)

The original Arsène Lupin novels were translated in Japan as "Kaitou Lupin", Phantom Thief Lupin. Some manga use this "Kaitou/Phantom Thief" term, like Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne and of course Kaitou KID. *points to nick and avatar* |
