A Stargate in the basement? I like where this is going.

I've never seen Stargate and I immediately wondered if the portal was inspired by South Park's "Imaginationland". Then I remembered the South Park portal was an homage to Stargate. It really surprised me when I first thought Nina was inspired by South Park (not that there would be anything wrong with that).

I like how the last panel was actually translated from the original Japanese, "ano baka!"

Let's hope they arrive at the other of the portal with all their body parts intact. Else, one of gonna end like Mr. Pinzerowski; the upper part went to one galaxy while his lower part went to another. :3

Nice catch!

The first thing I noticed was the whole Stargate lookalike too. Hopefully all those Gundam model pieces don't go altering the development of an up and coming society. (Prime Directive!)

My first thought was a Stargate, but a Stargate is for interstellar travel. This is a dimensional portal which would make it more like the portal in Sliders.

I also thought that there's no way they're going to get all the parts back because they're probably scattered across many worlds.

Favorite line: "Glue doesn't hum!"

It does, actually, but only in the hands of a Gunpla master(it's the midichlorians).

To paraphrase Planes, Trains and Automobiles:
'That's not a stargate!'

And last because I feel like being am a nit. Why the heck is Paola carrying around the model? To keep it safe? Fail.

Yes, I know, it's key to the advancing of the plot. Sitting down. Shutting up....for now.

That's the second strip in a row where Nina has been really clumsy with her hands. Co-incidence? I think not.

I'm calling it now; she has Parkinson's Disease and we will end up with a PSA "Very Special Strip" where Nina warns the audience not to fight amongst ourselves as all the knocks to the head can be hazardous to one's health. She'll raise heaps of money for charity and then Kevin will steal it and use it to buy another kit. Where upon Nina will knock Kevin over the head (proving her point about the dangers of violence) and Robin will make a cameo appearance in her own strip as the "Great Will of the ANN Cosmos" to revive him.

Hmm, I may be reading too much into two little incidents . . .

Unless there is some time differential (and the Morlocks have moved the model pieces out of range and into their subterranean lair...fertile comedy soil if there ever was) wouldn't Kevin just step on the pieces on the other side?

Another thought...Although it would be a total non-starter I imagined them landing in Kevin's room- out of his ceiling light. It actually looks just like the other portal but no one ever noticed.
