Highly irritated at Show right now.
Prism was only the best currently running Yuri Manga. Dammit Show.

What a shame. I really enjoyed this manga and am looking forward to read more of it. Hopefully, everything will be settled as soon as possible.

I suppose this also means that the volume will be cancelled. I knew this one manga-ka who had her works removed from shelves because of allegations of copying clothes from fashion magazines.

Just great. I hadn't started reading it yet, but I did buy the first volume and it looked really good from what I skimmed of it. And now what looked like the lone bright spot in an otherwise dismal yuri scene is probably never going to finish. Fan-f***ing-tastic.

Artists have copied other art and been inspired by other art since prehistoric times. Getting anal over this is stupid. But we are dealing with the Japanese here so what makes sense to me may not make sense to them. Everyone suffers for this kind of unrealistic and backwards thinking though.

Sigh.
When will people ever learn? You trace- you will probably get caught.
Such a shame, because he looks like he's actually a pretty good artist.

Sounds to me like she was just being lazy if she was tracing over & altering panels from other manga.
No comment on using actual pictures to make panels in comics/manga as i'm not sure if thats really copyright infringement or not...but it is kind of lazy I guess.

Tis a shame because Prism happens to be one of the best yuri manga series I've read in awhile.
I've seen some of the mangaka's other work (mainly h-related stuff they did) and it never looked like they traced anything.

tracing over something != being inspired by, and those comparisons are pretty telling.
Flat-out copying something is as bad as plagiarism in the literature scene, and that doesn't fly there. Artists are little better when they trace something.

I see no harm in referencing photos, magazines, other manga and whatnot but for f|uck's sake, don't put the reference pics on a f|ucking light box and trace it! Use the pics as a starting point and draw the manga your own damn self.
This sucks... Good yuri manga are so hard to find, and I'd never even heard of this one.

The tracing is alleged not stated as actually occurring. I have seen one for one copies and that doesn't look like a one for one copy. Close but no cigar.

Did you see overlayed pictures in the twitter response that was linked to? The face obviously isn't copied, but the rest clearly went beyond normal reference material use. The hand and the corndog/popsicle are basically identical. I don't see how that can be justified. This series looks doomed to me.
