Thank goodness for Amazon's pre-order price protection; saves me the trouble of cancelling and re-ordering.

Blood, you need to find an American friend just across the border to help you get your anime savings. Razz

Too true. Even better would be an American friend just across the border who was willing to get herself to Toronto. And be a nympho. With big ones. Wink

Are you a long way from the border or close by? What I've decided to do lately is send all my packages to a receiving service across the line and then picking them up there.

I don't know if there are any such businesses near you or how long it takes you to make a trip but for me it has worked out great. Sadly, there are no "big ones" involved in this plan but it has saved me a lot of money.

Oops, forgot to mention the current buy one get one half off deal at Fry's....
It ends May 31, so you still have a little time left.

Both Section 23 (ADV, Sentai, Maiden Japan, etc) & Funimation are part of the deal.

Though the Funimation sale does not have any signage, it rings up at the register that way (I work at the local Fry's).

Also on that Funimation sale (on Funimation's site) if you go to the home page, and click on Buy One Get One Free, they have all of the various SAVE editions on there.

@ ikc - hmm, that's not a bad idea, actually. The closest border crossing to where I live would be Niagara Falls, N.Y., I guess, which I can drive to in less than 2 hours. Trouble is, with the cost of gas these days, I'd be burning up my savings unless I bought a real shitload of stuff.

Yeah. That would be tough. For me, going down to the states is not even a half hour trip. Plus buying gas while you're down there helps offset the cost. It's probably just not worth it for that long of a trip though.

Find a PO box near Niagara Falls NY and then take a bus to Niagara Falls in Canada, walk over the pedestrian bridge, pick up your stuff, walk back and then hop back on the bus.

Sure it's long, but you save on gas!

Sounds like you already know the solution then. Buy a metric shit ton of stuff! If they don't have to load it in your truck with a forklift, then you're doing it all wrong Smile

I was perusing the Amazon anime "deals" section and being generally unimpressed (for series I was interested in but one did catch my eye.

Rideback: The Complete Series (Blu-ray/DVD Combo) - $28.95 (list $64.98)

I'm considering that one.

Super Bi-Annual Sale 2012 @ DeepDiscount.com (25% off select products)

Sale ends 5/31 - 6/24 (7pm CST)

Looking at what's on sale for anime. The only thing worthwhile are the select titles under the Section23 Films / Sentai Filmworks label (some up towards 53% off).

And if you use the Share and Save 10% promo (on front page)...you could save even more. After sharing (email, Facebook, or Twitter), use 10% coupon first and then the 25% off coupon. That could be up towards ~57% off anime releases from S23/Sentai Filmworks.

Not sure if this is a typo or not, but pointed out by a twitter friend:

Skull Man, Complete Series, DVD $5.99 (marked down from $39.98)

Got decent reviews, and it's just $6!
