OH YESSSSSS!

Firefly was one of the best series I ever saw. It promised to bring joy to my now lifeless TV schedule. And the bastards cancelled it. grrr...

But to have a movie, that's pretty sweet Smile

You're sure that's not just a rumor?

Wow!

Are you really sure?
It's been a really long time the last time I was on that forum. I still remember informing the poor rip-off posters (Long story, folks), I've become a little famous for that. I don't know if any of the Fire Fans talk about me when they describe what happened in their forums.

If it is true, I'll be one to go see it in the theaters.
Curse you Fox! You never understand what a good TV show is!

Edit: You mean the Reavers, SuperSkylineGTR. That certainly sounds interesting to me, I've always wanted to know what they were.

Fireflie has justed started showing in the UK,were on about the fourth episode a think.I have to admit its suprisingly good, not great but pretty decent. The only problem with it is the terrible theme tune, its awful. The idea of a fireflie movie sounds cool.

Talking about cancelled TV shows do any of you in the US know what happened to a show called Oddysey 5.It showed for a what I think was a season in the UK but then never came back,Im guessing it was cancelled but Im not 100% sure.

This is definitely interesting, indeed. I would like them to do more about the reebers.
Although, I got a bad feeling that it probably won't come to fruit.

Wondered why Firefly and Fastlane were canceled? It was put on a Friday timeslot...most shows fail when it's scheduled on a Friday,a day where people don't usally watch TV unless it's a movie. And they usally go out more too.

Yeah!!! Woo Hoo!!!!! I loved that show!!!!!!!

**You do know however if it does not make it to completion or if it was just a rumour I will cry, yah I know how pathetic, BUT HEY IT IS FIREFLY!!!

A-hem *smiles sweetly* now then, wasn't there a little debate in here a long long time ago about how it paralleled some scenes in Outlaw Star? Just Curious. ^.^

While the date and the time were a part of the cancellation. There were more factors going on. A few being: The Dark Angel fan rift (God, some of those fans were alittle too crazy for my tastes), Fox not using the premiere esp., Fox taking it off on certain days, Nelson ratings, and more.

Yes, there was. Being a Outlaw Star fan myself and knowing more about Itoh's works, I took it upon myself to learn more about Firefly. When I did I soon became interested in the show by itself and disgusted with all the rip-off accusations by other OLS fans. So I went to the Firefly forum, the huge debate at AN, and the thread here: And I told what OLS was based on and what FF was based on to kill off the rumors and accusations. It actually did work, and I found myself laughing when people begin to say Firefly was ripping off Cowboy Bebop.

I think one of the major reasons Firefly got cancelled is that it cost 2M$ per episode. With that kind of price tag, it just *had* to deliver top ratings, except it didn't... because of reasons previously mentionned.

One thing I find extremely annoying, however, is that they completed a few episodes that were NEVER AIRED once the decision was made to cancel the show. Damn it! Since you already spent that money, why not show the episodes?

Plus, were the episodes out of order too?
I know the last episode was the pilot which showed how everything began.

I did not know that the episodes were that expensive! Exclamation
Maybe one day Sci-Fi will pick it up, I guess we can only hope for that and a movie.

I doubt that. SciFi has already shown their stupidity by cancelling their highest rated show....Farscape...and replaced it with the moronic show, Tremors.

Does anyone know why Sliders went to the sci-fi channel and then turned really bad? Fox used to have good shows.

And about Farscape, what happened on the last episode, it was just a "to be continued" does that even count as a real ending?

I always liked Lexx better than anything else the sci-fi has and ever will do. I wish it could have gone on forever, but that good thing came to an end, with an ending that wasnt "to be continued"

Agreed. Scifi is more of a horror channel these days and has shown by recent actions that they can be just as stupid as local stations.

Yes, they were out of order. Yet another thing that Fox probably did on purpose. As the staff of the show were often upset on the forums/site that it wasn't being shown in order by Fox.
