Anyone know how much an excellent condition Space Battleship Yamato Perfect Collection laserdisc box set is worth?

I'm thinking about selling mine on eBay.

I don't know but I don't think it would be that much seeing how it is laser disc. Unless, you find a collector of the kind of stuff a normal person wouldn't buy it for much.Even though star blazers was a good show, I've only seen one the of the movies for star blazers.

There was a time, a few years ago, when everyone was selling their LDs for cheap online, and in used video shops. I managed to buy my used Layzner box set for really cheap in one of those stores. It's been some time since I've bought any LDs but I don't think they have become collectable if that is what you are wondering. I still get people to sign/sketch on my old LDs since they do look cooler than their tiny DVD cousins.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I was wondering. If they're not exactly "collectible" or worth much then I don't want to spend the eBay fees. I can just take them to a trading store in San Francisco.

I can see how they would be...they're gorgeous. Much nicer packaging than the DVDs. But on the other hand, they're not all _that_ special or rare. Maybe in the US.

I figured that they might be worth, say $100 for the box set (I remember paying $400 USD, several awkward international phone calls, and working out a wire transfer to a store in Japan in 1993). I guess maybe I'm better off keeping them myself - they're worth a lot more than $20 to me...[/quote]
