No difference. Amazon just charges more.

Online prices for DVD's are usually all over the place, but Amazon tends to be higher priced than most. Sometimes they have good sales, but usually you can beat their prices pretty easily.

Amazon does however sometime mess up on the pricing. When this occurs they will charge you the price quoted when you purchased the DVD. They had the Mars Daybreak limited edition for $13.99, which was almost half the price of the standard edition. I believe the current listng for Samurai 7 Limited Edition volume 3 is listed retaile $24.98, with a discounted price of $17.49. They also have Gankutsuoh at $24.98 retail with an additional 30% off. So wile they might not be the cheapest source for anime, they do honor their mistakes.

I think they are different if you look closly at the pic's and the info you can see a difference One says copyrighted material on the cover that one also has no region info availible from the site. The other one from Amazon has the region info clearly stated and the cover dose not say copyrighted material. The one that has the extra print may be a used promo?

I just got vol 2 from Best buy yesterday and it dose not say copyrighted material on the cover like the one from dvd empire unless they added that to there picture of the product for some reason I still think there is some thing not right. (I know its not out untill 10-18 but best buy 's around here get there product early) Smile

Amazon simply charges more, and to my knowledge dvd empire is a legit site. Sometimes you will find good deals on Amazon, and they ship in a very timely manner and never harm any of your items, ideal for special editions and boxes. So if you were ordering a special edition...and you were willing to pay 5 bucks extra to not have its corners all banged up....go with Amazon.

Dvdempire is taking a loss on the product hoping you buy more with the purchase.

Amazon themselves aren't following their usual anime pre order pricing.

That said my copy of vol 2 has come in today , yay!!!

They don't appear to be different the Amazon price is just higher. As for Amazon charging more, that's inaccurate as well. Amazon's pricing is erratic, sometimes they cost alot more and sometimes they cost less, alot has to do with market value and how much they have. I actually just ordered some DVDs last night from Amazon because they were cheaper there than anywhere else.

Nothing inaccurate about it at all. Most of the DVD's on Amazon can be found for less elsewhere, especially anime DVD's. They may have a few titles that are less expensive, or decent sales now and then, but on the whole they charge more than other online retailers.

I would say it is and I shop around before I make my purchases. If I find it cheaper elsewhere, I buy there, if it's cheaper on Amazon then I buy there. While it's less likely you'll find anime cheaper there, it's not impossible as I have before, and when you account for DVDs as a whole it's entirely possible you'll find them cheaper there as I have many times before.
