Not really as good as the movie. Reads too much like an early 50s Tezuka manga where they have too much discussion of the scientific principal being explored, and not enough action. Plus, you gotta deal with supporting characters who add nothing to the story, and unnecessary background details on the players. Paprika the novel also lacks the urgency of the movie. Much like an old- school rpg, city gets attacked, but everyone acts way too normal about it for too long. Only buy the book if you have to know how the original story was conceived.
