I hope this will be good. I was describing the premise of Mirai Nikki to my wife and she is really interested in it, looking it up online and everything, but she just can't get into anime manga. Hopefully this will be good enough for her to enjoy it.

Sadly, most Japanese TV shows look like they were made in the 80s on Beta. Hopefully this will get some money put behind it.

But will she still have the pink hair?

Just wondering...

But why change the characters names? What purpose does it serve?

They might have wanted Yuki's character to be "different" than how he was in the manga (i.e. more assertive and less annoying) and they didn't want to hear complaints about changes made to an established character.

So instead they decided to go with a completely different character.

My guess is that they decided that the original story was a bit over the top for live action, so they are doing a toned down, slightly less bat-$#!% crazy version of Yuno, and wanted to make it perfectly clear that this is a story "based on" the manga, not an adaptation of the manga.

I hope Crunchyroll picks it up on the Drama side. It would be fun to watch, just for comparison purposes...
