What the hell are you talking about? This isn't about Macross. This is about Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles, a new original series made by Harmony Gold. Macross is just an old anime series which was adapted into the first saga of Robotech. You can buy the subtitled DVDs from AnimEigo (they have lost the license, though, so DVDs may be hard to find) or you can wait for ADV to re-release it (with a possible uncut dub) in the future since they recently picked up the rights to it. And what exactly are you telling them (HG) to get over? |

uhhh... AnimEigo released a Super Dimensional Fortress Macross box set in 2001 and sold the individual DVDs up until recently when Harmony Gold re-appropriated the rights and made them available in a new box set. It's also soon to be re-released by ADV Films, possibly with an English dub. Meanwhile, ADV released Robotech: Macross saga on DVD in 2001 and re-released it in a collection last year So quit whining. -t |

Hm? Does this mean that they're looking into theatrical distribution with this? I'm really eager to see how this turns out and I hope they release it soon. The little bits of info and screens I've seen on this make it look like one helluva promising new animated series. I'm just hoping at least the DVD will make it out this year.

Just another year they're delaying it.
HG promised it would be out by the end of '04...then they promised it would be out by the end of '05... Guess we have to wait another year. They're releasing a movie that comes before the start of the show. Would be interesting to see it in theaters though, I dont know how realistic that is though.. |

Robotech in theaters. I can see it now: 2 guys go to the movies. Guy 1: What's this Robotech movie? Guy 2: I don't know, I think it's some Star Trek cartoon. Guy 1: Oh. Screw that, I'm not a nerd. That theater'll probably be full of those fat losers who watch Chinese cartoon porno and Pokemon. Guy 2: Yeah, really. Hey, let's go see Into the Blue! That's a kickass movie!

my friends at adv said that people from harmony gold were at their offices weds, but everyone was told not to come to work thurs or fri cos of the hurricane. i wonder if maybe they were gonna talk about distribution...?

And who exactly are your friends at ADV? How do we know you're not just some kid from Florida who's making stuff up? 
Do you even know the names of any ADV employees? Voice actors? Do you even know the CEO's name? Not that that'd make me believe you know them personally. I find it hard to believe that some random message board poster from "space" is friends with people from ADV. |

I'd be fairly astonished if "theatrical distribution" for this thing exceeds about 50 screens, which is about par for the course for non-Miyazaki anime movies in limited release.

Hey Starwind, here's an idea, how's about not having a [expletive] period whenever anyone says something that may have happened? He never said it definantly, 100% happened. It was speculation. ADV staff are like any other human being, they talk to people, they have friends. Do you have friends Armada? Are you just mad that people might know someone "in the know" and you don't? You seem awfully bitter, Armada. |
