I was realy looking foward to [as] aring this movie intact with an exeption to the language. But this was just to disapointing, I had to stop watching when I saw what it truly was after the fight on the train, aint no way I was going to stand for it.

I have the dvd so I can't really complain. The plot and all the important things were left in. The cuts seem inconsistant, but pretty minor

The movie was edited by Sony, not CN.

Oh, boo-hoo, they cut the shot of the guy getting shot in the head. The movie is ruined. Bebop has been butchered for life. Rolling Eyes

Please. Quit complaining about minor things and be happy that there were only minor edits. It seems like some people can't be pleased. I suppose you didn't like how they sped up the credits, either. I think we should all boycott AS now. Rolling Eyes

Nice try. The movie is in syndication. It's not exclusive to AS. One of the premium channels already showed it.

What? Movies don't go into 'syndication' like that. Sony edited it for television like they would any other R-rated movie that goes to network TV.

Do people cry blue murder when Patrick Swayze says "DANG!" instead of "SH*T" when they watch Road House on TNT? No. Why do they expect CN to show unedited R-rated movies?

Yes. Yes they do cry murder. I know, it's silly, but there's a very outspoken double standard for movies when it comes to censorship, which is why more and more uncut movie showings are appearing on basic cable TV.

I don't think we expected CN to air it completely unedited, but usually CN is able to get an uncut copy (that ISN'T pan and scanned) for themselves to decide what is and isn't appropriate. I guess Sony had their own desires in mind to sell the movie non-exclusively since the TV series is relatively popular, so I won't be surprised if this same version appears on another channel. But a lot of what got cut would normally fly on AS, and has. Even in anime they've broadcast.

Really? I have never heard anyone upset about something like that, I always thought it was just something unique to our fandom. Perhaps the people that cry murder over stuff being edited out of their movies are just not loud enough or numerous enough to be heard by your mainstream movie watching Joe. Much like the analagous fanboys in their relationship with conglomarates like Sony; they just can't be heard.

Less than twelve edits for an entire movie? And those sound like pretty minor ones, at that. That's really not that bad, considering...

I hope you know that most of the items on that list were things that WEREN'T edits. Rolling Eyes
