I wouldn't mind having a clock that used Veronica Taylor or Stephanie Young. $1500 for one is out of the question, but it would still be neat.

The clock says in Japanese, "Um…Please hurry and wake up! Uh…It's already morning!"

That sounds like the "moe" Homura from episode 8? IIRC. Would rather have her give a wake up message more in-line with the jaded, tough girl she was in most of the rest of the series.

You mean Episode 10? Yup, the picture on the clock already tells so.

If it comes with the face of Homu Homu printed on it? Probably.

What if it were a naked picture of her? That would probably pose a serious conundrum for a lot of otaku.

A tissue with naked Homu Homu? I suppose it would be a conundrum for those that want their collectibles to be pristine, but for those that want a practical use out of them, that would be icing on the cake.

A washable handkerchief fixes that problem.

The main problem is that Japanese has like....~150~ syllables and a possible final <n>. It's easy to record that.

English, on the other hand, has literally millions of syllables.

So the "Say your name" thing wouldn't work....and it's the coolest part of the clock, to me.

But if I ever got one, I'd just make her say "Chagen" because that's a possible word in Japanese.

Given the context of the show, wouldn't this be more nightmarish than moe? Nothing wrong with Chiwa Saito's voice, but being reminded of that every time you wake up...

Also apparently I've been pronouncing Chagen wrong all this time.

If I wanted to make the clock pronounce correctly, I'd make it say "Cheigen", actually....
