Enlightening. Sales and profits seem to be down across the board by 25% since the peak in 1999. Interesting to see the effect of changing trends. Piracy does get some blame but is not singled out as the main problem. A rather levelheaded report I would say.
The export section was really surprising. How the heck did tiny Austria manage to become the second largest importer of Japanese music after the USA? I guess there must be some major company located there which sells/distributes the CDs inside the EU market. |
