I'm not much of a manga reader, but I remember this section of the anime well. While the bullying might seem melodramatic to some, I think it is quite reasonable to show that those with some small amount of power would take advantage of it for their own immature reasons.
One of the reasons Saionkoku is so interesting is that it is a story about someone who has a lot of personal dignity who is struggling against an unfair world. This section of the story is an excellent treatment of this theme. |
