I think my captions okay. I don't know if it would be considered "Comedy Gold." Hopefully Zac puts the winner and some runners up on the site. I want to see what other people have come up with.

Also, is the number of entries limited? I'm guessing no.

I want to know that, as well. I want to make sure before I start sending in multiple captions..

Enter as many times as you like! Although it's handy if you put them all in the same email.

Ooh Noir. My family doesn't have a sense of humour though, and it doesn't run in me at all. Well, with any luck, something brilliant might just hit me in the middle of class.

That last email posted was so off and wierd I would have thought I logged into the wrong email if it arrived in my inbox.

While I liked Rebecca, it is nice to have Zac back.

Great work Zac.

BTW, is it just me or did Ms. Answerman seem a little meaner than the original Mr. Answerman?

She just never grasped the finer (or any) points of acidic wit. She beat you over the head with stuff and it just made her seem angry as opposed to making fun of the stupid.

Welcome back, and on an odd note, does Senior furball have a name? I would say that I am looking forward to BGC2041, but I think that Hell will freeze over before that shows gets done. Even considering that ADV Films is salivating for it.

While I agree that it was incredibly strange, the Flake of the Week email does remind me of something that's been niggling at me for a while: how do I go about getting R1 DVDs that have Spanish translations of anime (legal ones, that is)? See, English, fine, it's my native tongue and it's nice to have a dub or sub in my native tongue, but I'd like to enhance my study of Spanish by watching anime (and, I wouldn't mind getting my hands on the elusive "Really awesome, WAY better and more acurrate and NOT butchered" Spanish dub of Cardcaptor Sakura, for instance, or the Spanish dub of Sailor Moon, which I've heard was SLIGHTLY better than the English version and actually had Sailor Stars in it).

However, I ran into two problems with this idea: 1.) Surprisingly few R1 anime DVDs have a Spanish dub, despite the fact that three major destributers live in Texas AND despite the fact that it's the second most common language in North America (no joke! It's the second most widely-spoken language in the U.S. and there's even a considerable Spanish-speaking population in Canada); and 2.) Even fewer anime, for whatever strange reason, are subtitled in it. In fact, I would prefer a sub, as I'm far better at reading it then understanding it spoken, but weirdly enough, even the DVDs that do have a Spanish dub alongside the English (such as Those Who Hunt Elves II and Burn Up W) don't have a Spanish subtitle track, and to boot, the English subtitles do not appear to match up completely to the Spanish dub translation, either, which makes trying to watch it in Spanish with English subtitles rather pointless (I tried doing it with Burn Up W, but gave up after discovering a line that didn't exist in the subtitle track was in the Spanish dub, and that a number of things were different even from the English dub as well).

I have to wonder why more anime companies in the US don't appear to do Spanish translations, and when they do, don't seem to like including a subtitle track. I mean, that's just weird, you can actually fit subs on a DVD a lot easier than you can an extra audio track, and all you need is somebody to translate it and somebody to time/program the subtitles, whereas a dub is much more expensive to produce, not least because of the number of people (actors, dub scripters, recording people, ADR director, etc.) involved. Question

If a company releases an anime with a Spanish subtitle track on R1 DVD, I can almost guarantee I'd buy it at this point, just from the sheer lack of legal titles with that feature. Confused

Naked women and bloody murder? You do the math.

I'm pretty sure those elements would be enough to make it a hit, with a "boom-chikka-boom-chikka-boom" and a "cha-cha-cha", don't you?
