NOTE: There were several posts ahead of this one, which is why my post sounds as it does. I didn't start this thread.
----------
Why are we talking about s-CRY-ed? What makes this series worth watching? Why should we write about it?
I haven't missed an episode yet on Adult Swim, and I like the series. I just want to know why we should talk about it.

There really is no point to this thread. But I like s-CRY-ed, too.

oh i like it too this thread is a little weak but hey the manga got me into it and when dvds came out i was a little disappointed in the first two but from the middle and on it was worth it. i was disappointed though because i felt the manga was better but oh well it was a great series in all.

i swear to god the dubbing of this show is getting worse every episode. this episode was like watching Yu-Gi-Oh or Dragon Ball Z. the way they delivered their lines was just hilarious.

I really enjoyed the show. Sure it was your typical fighting anime (of the non-DBZ variety), but it was different in an interesting way, and the characters felt fresh and a bit newer as well. Lots of fun to watch, and the OP was pretty sweet as well.

first off the dubbing thing i really liked the dub it was funny and very enjoyable to watch. sub fans hate every dubbed show so i wouldnt listen to him. anyway i have one more question for people who have actually seen the series ending. this is a spoiler but i bet you all saw it coming. i know i did. when ryuho and kazuma are having their final fight and they both start fighting bare hand and knock each other out, does kazuma raising his hand and the credits rolling mean he won or are they getting ready to go at it again? does anyone know the real reason or is everyone just giving their opinion.

^It's an open ended ending meant for you to interpret in your own way. There's really no official right or wrong.
I liked S-CRY-ed as well though I watched it long before it's airing on CN through the DVDs. Great characters and a good storyline.

i'm not an elitist, i just think the dubbing sucks. the lines just sound really ridiculous over the top.

It was Kazuma. If you look closely you can tell its his fist. He rose his fist in victory (similar to how they show the winner in boxing). They both gave in their all and certainly did a number on eachother...but in the end it was Kazuma who was still able to raise his fist. He had that last ounce of strength to claim the win. However the last scene after the credits gives off the idea that since the win was so narrow the score truly wasn't settled. That's how I see it.

I always took it to mean that Kazuma had won.

So is the original Japanese performance it's just the way the series is, which the dub cast does an excellent job of reproducing in my opinion. Alter users are supposed to be a little over the top and offen mentally unstable.

In my interpretation I think Kanami is using her alter power to make sure they can't kill each other since she cares about both of them. They kind of hint at this slightly.

Well, the quality of the VAing does drop when they switch into I-Shall-Destroy-the-Evil-Power or I-Going-to-let-my-rage-blind-me Mode , but I think overall it is decent.
I am still back-and-forth on this show though. It seems to be hinting at some big plot points later on, (in whiny voice) but I want them now! *whimpers*
It is still showing potential to me; the last few eps. have been piquing my interest and I hope in continues.

She seems to have some mental connection with Kazuma. Haven't seen the whole series, but (guess) I have a feeling she is the one scried (scry) is referring to.

Her ability is to be able to read the deepest thoughts and feelings of others. But she has no idea she has this ability and also no control so it activates when it concerns the person closest to her (Kazuma). Later on a character named Kyoji Mujo captures Kanami and utilizes her power for himself.
