I just recently finished watching rurouni kenshin on dvd and i just plain out hated the last episode. For me ending a series one episode after a mini story arc was just too abrupt of an ending. In my opinion i felt that it should have ended with a short 3 episode story arc about kenshin's descision too leave or not. The last episode tries to do this but for me it remained inconclusive and the fact they got cheap and overused stills in the episode really ticked me off. And to top it off the last 3-5 minutes of the episode are pointless flashbacks with music and to end with kaoru and kenshin just stare at their friends while traveling on a boat was too cliche. Oh well thats just my opinion and i'd like to know what other people who are rurouni kenshin fans think about the the last episode of the series.
PS: thankfully i was very pleased with the ending that rurouni kenshin: seisouhen provided and left me very satisfied even though i've read some bad reviews about it.

The entire third season is crap compared to the first two. I'm glad I just borrowed it from a friend instead of wasting money on it.

I couldn't. Maybe you guys should make it so that the delete post button doesn't dissappear.
And thanks a lot for deleting what I said. Now I don't even remember.

Firstly, use spoiler tags when going into detail about last episodes. Secondly, just about nobody likes the last portion of the Rurouni Kenshin TV series; just about everything after the Kyoto Arc is considered to be substandard crap for a number of reasons, not the least of which being lame stories, plot inconsistencies, and out-of-character writing.

It gets bad reviews for being a tired, cheesy mess of an OVA that overloads Rurouni Kenshin with cheap angst in an attempt to create a "dramatic finish," all the while blatantly contradicting the established canon series (both manga and TV, and to an extent even Tsuioku-Hen) and taking too many of the characters way out of their established personalities. As a completely alternate reality separate from the manga, or maybe if it was made as an original story with no connection to Kenshin, it'd be alright, with only its reaches for angst as a substitute for real, quality dramatic writing going against it. Shame that can't really be said of it, though.

i havnt seen the 3rd arc and now i dont think i want to. i saw the wandering samurai arc on cartoon network and bought the kyoto arc and really enjoyed it, specially the kyoto arc. but i had heard the third arc was bad but i never thought that bad. even rurouni kenshin fans didn't like it. i thought a bunch of haters said it sucked. damn i guess im not gonna buy it ill wait i mean the kyoto ending was enough for me and i really liked the all the Samurai X OVAs so i guess those endings will do.
