I wanted to know if Rin (the horse) ever appears in the Anime..

I don't believe so. I believe the horse and the rooster are the two that are left out of the anime.

Since we're now getting into some pretty heavy spoiler material, I've put a note in the title to warn people of that. Regardless, it would be really nice if people still used spoiler tags from here on out. Affected, that includes you.

AAA, learn to use the spoiler[spoiler tag]. Do it now. Then go back and edit your posts. Don't post again until you've learned this basic skill.

Yeah... Akito spoiler[is considered to be a "he" throughout the anime because the anime never got to that point in the manga.] IIRC, the anime was finished long before that plot twist happened in the manga as well.
