I know it doesn't help much, Kenshin5000, but for all you northwesterners out there, the Seattle Symphony has one of these scheduled for next July.

Although it is a 2 hour drive for myself I am planning on going to it. I heard that the LA show was so good and I can never forgive myself for missing that, sooo I am all set to go on thursday...... What do you think is alright to wear to this???? I mean it's more of an out door concert, I certainly wont be cosplay anything. But I also dont want to wear my Tux, since I just had it dry clean. Any suggestions?
Delta Kiral P.S. Liberi Fatali that all I need to say about this show. More on this when I return. |

the detroit concert (unless they're doin it on the 23rd AND 24th) is on the 24th, that sunday, and not the 23rd. i and my compatriots have our tickets, and it says rather clearly Sunday July 24th, 2005. just a thing i noticed, maybe it's both days or whatever, but we've got tickets for the 24th

Where do you see that? I'm looking at next year's schedule, and they don't seem to have anything posted past July 8th 2006, and Final Fantasy ain't on there. As for everyone else, according to Square-Enix's page, the Dear Friends tour will end in Detroit. I would be going to Thursday's show...but had to buy a car. |

Actually this concert was in Atlanta back in June. Sorry you missed it. Arnie Roth, the conductor of this tour seemed very enthusiastic that there would be more concert tours in the future so I'm sure you'll have another chance.
At the one in Atlanta there was a wide variety of dress...umm...styles. Some people were in suits and very fancy dresses. Others looked like they just crawled out of their parent's basement from playing video games. I just went in some nice khakis and a collared shirt and I didn't feel a bit out of place. Also be prepared to shell out $20 bucks for a program if you want one. (that's what they charged in Atlanta at least). The program is very nice though. It has a brief description + screen shots of every Final Fantasy title in the concert and it obviously tells you what is being performed. Also, posters were $10 and t-shirts were $20. Hope this was informative. |

There is never any anime-esk concerts on the east coast besides hi-hi puffy ami-yui (how ever you spell it) or something at an anime convention. There are never any orchestral Final Fantasy concerts or the Black mages, there always on the west coast... You westerners are lucky .

Hahaha... it's actually scheduled for two performances right after that - July 13th & 15th 2006. Check it out yourself: http://www.seattlesymphony.org/symphony/buy/single/production.aspx?id=974&src=l I'm looking forward to it. All my friends - even the girls are FF freaks. If you get 10+ people together, you can get a discount on tickets. |

The Minneapolis concert says simply "TBA" at the Dear Friends website, and I can't find a trace of the concert anywhere on the Minnesota Orchestra website. I fear I've missed my chance. Guess that'll teach me to pay more attention to press releases.. ^^; At least Vivaldi will always be there to cheer me up.

Alright it was quite the drive down to San Diego and I have learn a few things. First San Diegan/nites whatever you are, can't drive!!!!! This may have to with the poorly constructed road that often led you to nowhere. Next Marine helicopters and outside concerts do not work well at all. Love my marines but damn those choppers (PLURAL!) are way to damn loud. Lastly Nobuo Uematsu music is just magic. "Dear Friends" music from final fantasy was awesome. Granted the conductor and all the band members were just amazing, and brought these amazing scores to life.
A quick run down of the songs and which games they hail from. 1. Liberi Fatali from FFVIII 2. Zanarkand from FFX 3. Terra's There from FFVI 4. Theme of Love from FFIV 5. Dear Friends from FFV 6. Vamo' Alla Flamenco from FFIX 7. Love Grows from FFXIII intermission 8. Aeris's Theme from FFVII 9. Not Alone from FFIX 10. Ronfaure from FFXI 11. Final Fantasy medley from FFI-III 12. New melody from FFVII advent children, or "Cloud Smiles" 13. Final Fantasy Oncore One Wing Angel FFVII Oncore 2 One Wing Angel FFVII Some personal favorite from the nite. Liberi Fatali was so powerful right out the cage with the chorus. I also really enjoy Terra's theme in large part because it's my favorite game, but in reality it was recieved very well. Dear Friends was alright, most people weren't into mainly because it very unheard of among most players. Vamo' Alla Flamenco what a great piece this way, a little latin spice that really got the crowd excited and the guitar player who look like he was 16 did a fantasic job. Love Grows was accompanied with video from FFVIII (Like most of the scores) but what made this one stand out was that in the Video Squall and Rinoa are in the middle of the dance scene and the firework go off behind them, likewise for us a barge of boats by the water let off a huge thing of firework that helped close the song, lots of cheering for this. Aeris Theme was very popular when the Band came back from break, and the crowd really went wild when the guess speaker noted that a new FFVII advent children song was going to be played tonite. All an all this was exprience that I don't think I will ever forget, if you get the chance to see please do even if your not a fan of the games. Delta Kiral P.S. I didn't go into One Wing Angel because one most witness its sheer power in person to see why Nobuo is the greatest composer that any console will ever see. P.S.^2 A brochsure (Spelling its 2 in the morning after I just drove 2 hours I am sorry now) was 20 dollars (I know that is a lot) but it actually not a piece of junk like I though it would be. So Happy about that I guess. |
