Does anyone know what the name of the song that is used in the trailer for "Sousei no Aquarion" is called and whether or not it's on the official soundtrack.
Thank you. |

Which trailer? I've seen two and they both have different songs as bgm. Anywho, I don't know if anyone knows what's going to be on the OST yet, but we'll all find out on 8/6. I can't wait!

I know the piece you're talking about! I really love it as well. I'll let you know on August 6th (actually, probably a few days after) if it's on the OST or not.

Oh, and then there's the spoiler[orgasmic transformation/combination where the girl says "Uso, kimochi!"]
And then in the second episode where she says spoiler["This is... really... getting to me!"] during the transformation/combination |

Well, I just got the Sousei no Aquarion soundtrack three days ago and have been enjoying it ever since. The song you described is indeed on the CD. It is track #2. (I can't read Japanese, but you can find the track listing here at Yesasia, where I pre-ordered the soundtrack.) I have to say that this is some of the best music I have heard from Yoko Kanno in recent years, and I mean that in the most objective way possible. I would probably recommend this CD even if I wasn't a notorious Kanno fan (I wouldn't do the same for, say, Stand Alone Complex OST 2 or Escaflowne OST 2, even though I personally enjoy them). To just give a hint of its greatness, Track 2 is far from the best orchestral piece on the CD. In fact, "High Spirit," the track directly after that, is probably the most enjoyable piece of symphonic work I've heard in the past 6 months. There are other gems on the CD too. "Brown Horses" has a very, very strange melody that almost sounds like a chromatic scale... but it completely works! "Sal" is a quiet choral piece sung by the Warsaw choir that brought tears to my eyes, even after listening to it several times. There are several solid vocal tracks as well, some great synth tracks in the style of the best work from GITS:SAC, and of course the token tidbits of Gabriella Robin's voice. I would highly recommend this to all Yoko Kanno fans (those who liked the Brain Powered and Turn A Gundam OSTs are going to love this one!) and even to general fans of classical music.
Oh, on a side note, I haven't seen Sousei no Aquarion, so I have the benefit (or misfortune, depending on how you look at it) of not having imagery from the show stuck in my head while listening to the music. I don't know how this factor will affect people's enjoyment, and maybe it won't, but I just thought I would mention it. |

Well, I can read Japanese, and track number 2 is アクエリウス (katakana akueriusu), or "Aquarius". -abunai |

Thanks so much, abunai! I should have known you would be the first to offer a translation; I am in awe of your talent with languages. |
