You came close to saying this earlier (kaijujanai also said it "sounds like [I was] forced to say something good about the dvd just to plug it"), and I was going to let it slide, but now that you've directly accused me of lying in my own review, I have to address this.
I don't write reviews for Geneon or Tofu; I write them for readers who want to know what I think about a release. As with any review you read on ANN, my opinions are entirely my own. If you read something with my byline in another venue, it is also my own opinion (and when others try to change it--and it has happened--I refuse to write for them anymore).
As a reviewer, my integrity is all I have, so I do not appreciate your attempts to damage it with bitter cheap shots.
On another note, I do appreciate the level-headed replies on the last page. Thanks, guys.

JMays, I am not trying to damage your reputation as anything, but I am pointing out the impression you create with your reviews, and how it creates those impression. If I am to accuse you, I would do it directly, instead of using terms like "the question" or "whether".
As for those who think I'm blindly defending hyde. Look at my post and see for yourself whether I have once stated that hyde sang perfectly, and listen again to the DVD and see if you agree to my points on those parts (for example, the pacing of the first song, Kuchizuke).
BTW, regarding the performance in the DVD which comes with the first press of the Japanese SMILE album, I agree that it's terrible. I'd rather that they just released the video clips of the Making of SMILE and not those clips from Shibuya 7.

The part I quoted above reads as an accusation, but if you didn't mean it that way, I hope you will be more careful with your word choice next time.

If this is just about Hyde, there's no reason to go on--you've made your point, I've made mine, and readers can decide for themselves. But if you have issues with other reviews, be specific.

The Hyde topic has been worn out, so I'll do everyone a favor and keep my two cents on that one to myself. But:

There's a reason it was released the way it was, and there's a reason those performances were cut from the Shibuya 7 Days DVD, lol.

That was Ken. And his guitar.
