When the Big O was later reviewed to be aired on Adult Swim it was shown uncut. And they funded a second season that fit the timeslot as well.
It's the toonmail for kids timeslot that dictated the edits. I know of adults who be outraged by the religious references and implications they bring. These adults btw would be Christians.

I am also aware that Big O aired completely unedited on Adult Swim.

Getting back somewhere in the vicinity of why we're all here, I saw the ep when it was on Thursday. It really sounded out of place, considering the situation. On a side note, the scratch sounded like Optimus Prime was transforming. ^^;

Funny this, on the first episode of Paranoia Agent aired on Adult Swim, one of the characters let out a "bull-shit". Maybe 12:30 in the morning is more acceptable for letting out some swearing.

Yeah, I noticed that while watching Paranoia Agent. Maybe it was an oversight? It's seems strange if it had to do with the time it was airing, since it aired right after Samurai Champloo.

Apparently they removed it before the 3:00 airing.

I have to wonder if this is just a case of people hearing what they want to hear. Because to have two different audio recordings of the episode play is just bizarre.
During an episode of The Venture Bros even though they bleep out the curse words I can still hear them because my brain fills in that gap or the bleep isn't loud enough to cover the word.
