Yeah. Because the ratings blew.
So? They're allowed to change it. Besides, the end of May? Close enough I say.
When I read that, I figured the encores were a given and it wasn't worth wasting time typing them over again.
Try their boards next time. |

Well, maybe not Azumanga Daioh. World of Narue and Fruits Basket really don't have a home so it should be great on Adult Swim. They do have very appealling fanservice for cute high school romantic comedies even though they don't have the violence. Bottom line, I figured out they should be on AS. ![]() |

Of course they are it's just that I had recently read that it was due in July.
I had not read it properly it seems their adding one more hour after it all and that took me off track.
I do not frequent the boards. Ah, I hate it when people get all defensive. It was not you who who had posted that anyway. |

Yeah, it sucks when you don't get to post comments and then flee to safety. BTW, here's a cool Champloo feature on adultswim.com - http://www.adultswim.com/misc/bts/samurai/index.html |

Adult Swim Comedy -- which is the only place those two shows would make sense -- favors American programming. It's not been said yes or no whether a Japanese show will ever be on there. |

They've already had Milkchan as part of the comedy, but that was a failure. There simply isn't a place on Cartoon Network or Adult Swim for romantic comedies (and there'll never be a place for AzuDai). Cartoon Network and Adult Swim are only interested in two types of shows: American comedy and cutting edge action (usually from Japan). The romantic comedy anime formula has yet to be fully tested on American television and it'll take a distributer with big money to get the ball rolling and so far no one is stepping up. Emerje |

You make a good point. I was thinking back over all the AS anime shows, well, FLCL is comedy but not "romantic".. and Inuyasha has comedic and romantic elements but a lot of action as well. Case Closed and Lupin have comedic elements and have not done all that well....Milk Chan is comedy but not well-liked among the AS viewers. Most of the others have been rather serious action shows (with a few comedic elements popping up from time to time in shows like FMA, Trigun and Bebop). On the other hand, AS has been gaining with the female audience, so I wouldn't be surprised to see one or another show with romantic elements appearing at some point (Blue Gener has perhaps been the only one they've aired with a full-scale "romance" developing fairly central to the plot and current timeline of the story). Anime is often rather subtle in the romance department, except sometimes in comedies like His/Her Circumstances and Oh My Goddess, wtih many shows depicting a POTENTIAL romance/attachment rather then developing the romantic relationship itself. |

First off dangerous move losing the American shows. Second, remember that [adult swim] caters mainly to the 18-34 male demographic. Though they're trying to pump up the female demo numbers (which at last check were doing much better) no way in hell will a romantic comedy show or anything deemed too "girly" (Chobits, Di Gi Karat anyone?) be on [as]. Now, throw in a knifefight, some explosions, graphic violence and THEN [as] will be all over it.
![]() *re-thinks statement* Actually Chobits has a better shot than Di Gi Karat. As for a comedy, how about Irresponsible Captain Tylor or D.N.Angel? I'm not really a fan of either, just throwing them out there. |

Since when was Di Gi Charat a romantic comedy?
As for your other statement, the day AS shows a CLAMP show is the day Hell, MI melts into the lake. |

There was an "or" in there. "romantic comedy show or anything deemed too "girly". And yes, I agree. They're more likely to show an action series with attrative male characters (bishonen) like Wolf's Rain or Fullmetal Alchemist that will appeal to both the male and female demographics than shows that cater specificly to the female demo. Yeah I saw that. I really have been wanting to watch that series for awhile. As to the whole converstaion. How I wish that an anime could please all. Sadly that is not the case. I would love to see Prince of Tennis on Cartoon Network. Is there a chance of that happening. Not really. You see how Detective Conan did not manage to grab everyone's attention. I loved that show. But, it was one of the those that due to it's length and other small reasons I would not have collected, but it was great in Adult Swim. For me and some others at least. |

And very soon Adult Swim will be venturing into American action shows. AdultSwim.com has photos of storyboards for a pilot Genndy Tartakovsky is working on. |

FLCL is most likely going to loop for a few weeks. I really enjoy the series and most of the people on the [as] forums want it back. So it is looking like it is going to be around all of summer. |

I'd hardly say a show like Witch Hunter Robin is "cutting edge action," so there have been shows that are a little slower than the usual action showed on the block. However, your point still remains valid, because WHR is still in the same general area as other shows. |

(Careful with the quote tag there.) The two blocks are called Adult Swim Action and Adult Swim Comedy. ASComedy mostly caters to the kind of toilet humor teens and college kids like. The growth of the female audience isn't going to fundamentally alter either block's choices of programming. If people want a girls block on CN, then they need to convince Williams Street that it can be profitable. |
