Eh beck isn't for everyone. If you're gonna recommend something, cater to their taste. Wouldn't that make sense?

I've read and own some of them.
From Far Away: A light epic fantasy (sounds like an oxymoron, but it's a save-the-world epic with a light, airy feel to it) and sweet romance. The premise is not too original, a Japanese girl gets blown away to a different universe, where she's the prophesised "Awakening" who is crucial to controlling the world--so everyone goes after her. But it's also unusual because the girl doesn't automatically understand the language, so she has to learn it to communicate.
It's a fun read, and I've collected every volume.

Paradise Kiss: A stylish manga full of gothic fashion and angst. Ai Yazawa seems to be the "it" mangaka of the moment. ParaKiss is interesting, but I liked Gokinjo Monogatari (the prequel) better.

Red River: Another epic fantasy/romance. I like these kind of manga better than the usual high school romance Smile Red River is heavier than From Far Away, with more intrigue and war. But the premise is similar, with a girl, Yuri, who is summoned to ancient Middle East as a sacrifice to curse the Crown Prince. Of course, she escapes and falls in love with the prince. But Yuri is no helpless girl, but she holds her own and eventually even leads an army to war Shocked
Red River is fun to read, and I used to have all the volumes. But I like Chie Shinohara's horror manga like Umi no Yami, Tsuki no Kage better.
If you like this epic fantasy/romance genre, I recommend BASARA by Yumi Tamura. It is the best in this genre, with great characters and a gripping story.

Hana Kimi: A fun, gender-bending high school romance. What's so great about this manga is the assortment of wacky characters and the everyday high school life that is depicted here. If you want something light and funny that makes you feel warm, you should read this manga.

I haven't read the other manga, except for a few volumes of DNAngel, which was OK, but I didn't like it enough to collect. I've also read all the original Fushigi Yuugi, when I was in my Yu Watase phase, but I haven't read any new Watase manga for years now, and so I can't comment on the Genbu Kaiden.

Wish, is worth picking up. Plus it's only four volumes so it's not too hard on the bank.

I've read the first three volumes of DNAngel at the library and or bookstore. It's a bit on the chilidish side. For some reason it reminded me of the Digimon manga. I don't know why.

I think I read the first volume of Wish. If I did, I liked it.

It is childish, not to mention the story being cliche and boring. Why girls love it? Because of the extra cute art, and their some gay moments.

First and foremost, I recommend Paradise Kiss. Although people think that the artwork is very, very strange, it really isn't. It has a unique style, unlike some of those other series that look like they're all by the same mangaka but are actually all different. It's a comedy in all ways, which seems unlikely when you think about the one word that describes it: fashion. With bisexual (I'm still not sure if this was meant to be taken seriously) fashion designers, gay hairdressers, and a transvestite, the other series do not stand a chance. Only five volumes, too.

Kare First Love is a bit cliched for me and the story is a bit old, but I would choose that one over the rest.

I can comment about FY Genbu Gaiden. If you read the original FY, well this is just the prequel. There are some things which Watase did to the story which doesn't flow in the timeline as well. At the current moment, the series seems to be developing much happier than what was already told in FY original. It's pretty much a series to follow if you want to know what happened before Miaka's and Yui's story.

forget Wish
it's one of the lamest Clamp's. Poor art, poor story.

Didn't read Paradise Kiss (I just can't stand the art), but it has very good reviews in France.

For what it's worth, I'll give my opinion (I'm probably a bit late, though). Ai Yazawa's one of my favorite manga artists, and Paradise Kiss is my favorite of her works, so I'm a bit biased in saying that's a wonderful manga. Smile It's great, stylistic fun; the artwork is delightful, the characters are likeable, and the story is believable without being overly mundane. Bear in mind, though, that it's not a story for all tastes.

Fushigi Yuugi Genbu is also a good read (only if you've read FY, granted). Actually, I think it's slightly better than the original, both in respect to the artwork and story. It's slighter maturer than the sequel, and the main character is a lot more relatable (unlike some other Watase heroines...). The only other manga I've read on your list is Wish, which I wouldn't really recommend. It's not really a bad series, per se, but overall I found it very uninteresting.

From Far Away - Haven't read it personally, but I'm of the opinion it's an overused plot and other artists have done a better job on it(Red River, Fushigi Yuugi, Magic Knight Rayearth).

Paradise Kiss - Lovely art, great fun characters. Really an excellent series. I've never lent it to someone who didn't end up liking it. The last volume is a bit of a let-down, but knowing Ai Yazawa, we'll see the characters again.

Red River - Positively enthralling. The art is dated, but it's one of the more interesting alternate world series I've read since Fushigi Yuugi(in retrospect, I'm liking Red River a bit more than FY). Also interesting is the fact it takes place in Mesopotamia, which I don't think I've *ever* read or seen anything set there. The characters are fun and the plot rarely gets boring.

Wish - Gorgeous artwork, a cute fun story. But, anyone could tell you, the last volume is positively evil. Clamp builds up to a somewhat mediocre end for this one.

Kamichama Karin - Haven't read this, but I know the author. Expect lots of cute... Anything by Koge is a sugar-high waiting to happen.

Fushigi Yuugi Genbu - Fushigi Yuugi is one of the classics. Genbu, however, is a prequel to it all. You won't need to read the original series. Watase's art reaches stunning new heights with this title. The slow release time(since she's doing Zettai Kareshi for a weekly magazine this one only gets a few chapters on the occasion) can be a bit of a pain, but it's classic Watase and just as good as the original FY.

Hana Kimi - Cute and funny. There's a lot of gender benders out there, but this one isn't half bad. General classic shoujo plotlines everywhere. The art is fairly good as well. A bit cliched, but fun reading. It's a bit long, though.

Kare First Love - Cliched, but not bad. The artwork is soft and clean. I haven't been following this one, because it's pretty easy to tell where things are going, but it's an okay title if you're looking to waste a bit of time with the same familiar plots.

Zodiac PI - Have only read a little of this from Tokyopop's Sneak Peeks. Energetic, younger shoujo with a mystery theme. There's better mystery series out there, but it doesn't look bad.

DNAngel - Classic. Gorgeous artwork and a delightfully complex plot. Cliches? None, as far as I can see. Sugisaki has a wonderfully original series going so far.

Forbidden Dance - Not bad for an afternoon, but I'd say borrow it instead of buying it. The artwork is a bit cruder than usual series and there's nothing super-special about the series. If you like dance, you might find this a little more interesting, but probably getting another series would be good.
