From xjapan.de:
April, 19th 2005 This is very sad news. On the official hide website is a message that the hide museum will close at September, 25th 2005. There is also a online petition to save the Museum ... Let's hope that there's a way to keep the Museum alive. This is very sad to hear, as I myself have always wanted to visit this special place. If you're a fan of Hideto Matsumoto's music or his work with X and various other bands, please take some time out of your day to sign this peition. Thank you. :) Petition: http://www.petitiononline.com/gt347981/ |

The word "outraged" doesn't even begin to describe me at the moment.
X Japan. Lead Guitarist. Got a Museum. That's the short version. |

Heh, Super Arrow put it rather well, but I'll elaborate. hide/Hideto Matsumoto was an incredibly beloved and famous rockstar in Japan, and an amazing guitarist and songwriter, second only to fellow ex X-Japan bandmate Yoshki Hayashi. hide also gave back to the community, and helped kids with lukemia a lot. He died in 1997, and this musuem is one of the last reminders of him, in his home town. The musem basically has a lot of information about him and his discography over the years. All of his guitars and special personal belongings are also there. |

Sign or die. X Japan has become my favorite band and this has crushed my spirits because they are closing the museum.

I don't really see the point of having a museum dedicated to Hide. Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge Hide and X-Japan fan, but quite frankly, the only interesting thing in his life is probably how he died. I was so enraged at first, but once I got over it, it was kinda funny in a sad, sad way....

I heard that it wasn't meant as a permanent tribute. It'd be a bit odd if it was there forever. It's been almost 10 years since his death. It's time to move on. =/

Why am I being glared at? Just because I don't see the point in having a museum full of guitars and such? It's nothing against Hide, I don't see the point of museums dedicated to any musician.
Or is it because I laugh now when I htink of how Hide died? In the begining I was outraged, I screamed, yelled, ranted and raved, but then I read the translation of a Japanese website that explained how he had died, and well, if that's the truth, it's pretty pathetic... I'm half hoping it's not the truth, because he's too good to die like that, but I'm half hoping it is, because it's memorable... |

Why are you talking about him dieng, what does that have to do with this, really?
Museums, statues, etc. and other such honors are meant to celebrate the person's life, not their death. |

I think Super might be glaring at you because despite being such a "huge" hide fan, you haven't even learned how to properly write his name. |

I think the problem here is that people still want to see the museum, those who haven't seen it yet.
Then again, if they were that big of a fan, they would've known about him before his death and not after. He only started gaining the most fame after fans started to listen to jpop. |
