Was that the anime parody episode. If so it is the 1st episode of the 8th season.

Check it out here.

And if that is not the episode, then you can just scroll through the seasons and look for the episode.

Hope that helps.

No, it was the one with the Dawson's Creek Trapper Keeper. Unfortunately, I don't know which episode of which season it is. However, I do know that when you put the giant creature next to Rosie O'Donnell, you can't tell them apart.

If you want to get that episode and don't want to buy the full season box for the 4th season, it's also available on the "best of" compilation DVD, South Park: Ghouls, Ghosts, and Underpants Gnomes.

To answer the original question, it was episode #508 named "Towelle." The Akira scene is about midway through.

No, the episode with the Akira scene is "Trapper Keeper", not "Towelie".

The Akira parody in Trapper Keeper turns into a 2001: A Space Odyssey parody.

As many others here have already stated, the episode you are looking for is called "Trapper Keeper." The episode also spoofs Terminator, 2001, Robocop, but what is so unbelievable is that they missed a chance to spoof "Stargate: SG1." How could they miss that? I was SO expecting to see Tilk show up.

It isn't even the best episode on that "best of" collection DVD. The best one is the parody of the Star Trek episode with the evil parallel universe. Just think evil parallel universe and Cartman and you get an idea where the episode is going. That's the "Spookyfish" episode. And this collection DVD is available for rent in every Blockbuster video store I have ever been in.

I may not have seen "Trapper Keeper," but there is an Akira reference in "Towelie." When the military tries to take Towelie back under custody it is exactly like the relevant Akira scene.
