http://www.guyver.jp

From the looks of the site and the little Japanese I know it seems that a new TV series for The Guyver is in the works.

Hopefully, they won't tone it down too much for primetime Japanese tv.

OH HELL YES

I had heard the Guyver was undergoing something of a revival in Japan, after another publisher picked it up, ran it in their magazine (Shonen or Shoten somethingerother), and republished the old volumes with new art by Takaya. Then there was the Max Factory figures, which proved to be popular, what with the first run of Guyver III selling out. And now...and now th...AUGH I LOVE EVERYTHING AGAIN

I wonder if this'll pick up from where the OVA left off (thus allowing them to get to all the new stuff that was never animated - there's been like 10 more volumes over the years, currently at 22) or be a whole new thing. Either way, if you hear about a man dancing naked in the streets shouting "THERE IS A GOD!" over and over on the news, it's probably me.

I think that it may be a live action from the look of it now.

If you're basing this on the realistic look of the blurry Guyver on the main and "events" page, well...that could mean anything or nothing, really. I guess we won't really know for sure until...uh...*cut* ...OR IN THAT CASE, when the big announcement is made.

Edit: Stupid me, I need to read the front page.

That's just a pic of the Guyver 1 model that came with the limited edition vol. 21 of The Guyver manga. Wink

Kadokawa Shoten picked up The Guyver, after Shonen Captain comics went bankrupt. The Guyver is serialized in Kadokawa's Monthly Shonen Ace magazine. Vol. 23 of the manga should be out in December.

The big announcement will be made by Yoshiki Takaya on April 3rd. Wink
