Ah right, the Pikachu special so no new Pocket Monsters Best Wishes this week. Weird how it uses the Diamond & Pearl cast. Guess they needed an extra week to make some episodes maybe?

I wonder if Keyhole viewers are included in those rankings? I started watching the Street Fighter movie, but was disappointed that it was in English with subs so I didn't finish it.

Hey, it's fun to watch American movies in other languages! They played Star Wars 2 weeks ago, but it was evening in Japan, so it came on at like, 2am my time. The Star Wars dubs are supposed to be pretty good.

Tori, Tori, Tori, Tori, Tori, Tori, Tori, Toriko......
It seems kids are really loving this show. It went up this time.
Hunter x Hunter, Beezlebub and Naruto... none of them made it in the top 10. Oh well.

Nothing to do with being on right before One piece nope not at all /s
Kekkaishi once had Toriko's timeslot and it's ratings were excellent but it was cancelled after one year because neither the manga or merchandise sold. So lets wait to see if it's renewed after one year before calling it a success.

Also why Bleach never makes it into the Top 10 and is usually in the 20s/30s yet is still going: it boots the manga sales anyway

I think It's more the time slot (which is good) and the channel (Fuji TV was the first private network in Japan in terms of ratings in 2009). I mean, I would understand the 'One Piece effect' if Toriko aired right after, but since it airs before, the viewers actually watch the show because they somewhat enjoy it. Nothing would stop them from waking up or turning on the TV half an hour later.

Every new Bleach volume sells less than the one before it. It has lost more buyers than some other series even have. So I don’t believe that the anime “boots” the Manga sales.
Tough the merchandise, movies, etc. must still make enough money to keep the Anime going. The DVD sales are also quite high. One normal single DVD sells better than a normal single DVD of One Piece which is much more popular.

Where? 50, 51, and 52 seem to have went up and down but the sales charts here only show the top sells per week, not total sales until the end of the year. So where are you getting your figures to support that?

I wonder if the constant fillers have anything to do with the non-appearance of Naruto Shippuden for weeks on the top ratings.
