.hack has AWESOME music! I just got the soundtrack last week. My favorite songs on it are Yasashii Yoake, The World, Key of the Twilight, Fake Wings, and Obsession.

As much as I like Yuki Kajiura's music, I like Yoko Kanno's music more. To me, "Cowboy Bebop" as a whole is a lot more ambitious and has more great songs than ".hack//sign". Still Yuki Kajiura is a great composer and I can't wait to hear what she comes up next.

.hack//SIGN music is off the edge. lol. I really liked the music and the fact that most of the songs that were on there were in English. I guess See-Saw can actually sing in English too. BUT it took me forever to find out that the opening theme song "Obsession" was in English--until I bought the DVD with subtitles. I was like

See Saw did all the music in Liminality, as well, but everything is Japanese, unlike SIGN, which is multi-lingual.
I'm confused as to why they didn't use the same multi-lingual style as SIGN, when the same vocalists (See Saw), Music Producers, and Music Coordinators worked on both projects.

Maybe for SIGN, See-Saw was like "Hmm...I feel like singing in English on this anime for no reason at all." And in LIMINALITY See-Saw was like "You know what everyone? I think i'll sing in Japanese for this one instead of English." It could just be what See-Saw or the producers prefer.

It's just a change from the way they were doing it, and it set a whole different mood.
(On the other extreme end, Legend of the Twilight's pop tunes were even more of a change. The theme of .hack has always been tragedy, yet the music of Legend of the Twilight made it seem most of the time like they were just having a swell time while people around them are falling into comas again. )

The ending song, "Emerald Green", wasn't like that. It has a slow, but beautiful melody, and isn't that pop stuff like "New World." Actually, I do like "New World," but it seems a little out-of- place in .hack//Legend.
