While searching for info on voice actors of Fairly Odd Parents (don't ask), I came across a curious tidbit on the website of Ms. Grey DeLisle, the voice actress of Vicky.
http://www.greydelisle.com/main.html Clicking on the 'about' link, then 'animated tv series,' we are brought to a list of work she has done. And right there near the top of the page, we see 'Doraemon - Nobita.' edit- oops, just saw in the news archives that Shopro licensed doraemon...all I can say is wow. |

I think about getting on for five years ago now, at some point around the NATPE syndication confab season, there were a few vague mutterings from one kidvid distributor about either it being licensed or them looking into it getting licensed to cash in on the Pokémon fad, but nothing substantial ever came out of that.
It wouldn't surprise me at all if a dubbed pilot episode or two existed from that failed attempt to get broadcasters interested in the property. EDIT: Oh, it was only 3 years ago (the Thai newspaper article, I mean, not ShoPro)... well, still, old news and nothing happened. |
