I Mean with VIZ/Shounen Jump getting all the good stuff and Tokyo Pop too I mean what more is there left for smaller companies? Now adays it seems as if everyone is either Merging to get bigger or buying to get big or pulling some moves to kill the competition, well this is the first sign of the few who wont make the change in time! Farewell Ironcat may you rest in peace in Manga Heaven! God Bless!

Really, or is that sarcasim? I'm surprised it didn't happen sooner. After the issue with unpaid employees a few years ago, Megatokyo dropping them as publisher, and a list of other issues over the years it's all been just a matter of time.

That brings up a good point. What titles did they buy rights to recently, and if no books have been put out of said title, can they go back to be scanslated? I've always wondered about that when a publisher closes...

not only did they have Miyu, but they had ALL of Narumi Kakinouchi's other titles. This is extremly dissapointing for me because I've been waiting for all these titles to come out. And now they won't continue.

I don't know much about business, but I'd guess that they'll either auction off their licenses to help pay their debts, or the rights will revert to the original licensors to relicense.

This sux BIG time. I was lucky enough to meet the Ironcat crew at otakon 2 years ago and they were the nicest people ever. Of course I dropped about $250 at their table alone. I even donated $20 to the ironcat effort.
Man, I feel bad. Now what to do about Narumi. Crap.

...this, unfortunately, has always been the exact problem of Ironcat/IC - 'the nicest people ever'...but with absolutely crappy business sense. And by and in large, creditors couldn't possibly care less how 'nice' one company or another is.

That was sarcasm. I remember Studio Ironcat passing the collection plate at AWA 9 with their "Save Ironcat" drive. That's usually writing on the wall.

No Nanaka? That sucks.
So, what's going to happen to all those titles? Will some other company pick them up, or will they just sit there on a shelf? Do they even have a procedure for when something like this happens?

This came as a big shock to me, but that's just because I thought it had already happened.
