Rozen Maiden ouvertüre

Rozen Maiden Special

A haughty black-winged angel. An overture and hate played vigorously.

Long ago, in the workshop of the legendary doll maker "Rozen."

With Rozen's hand, many beautiful dolls are laid into boxes.

But one doll watches. Her name is Suigintou.

So begins the introduction, written in English, on the back on the box for the Japanese Region 2 DVD+CD Limited Edition release in 2007 by Pony Canyon (PCBX-50791).

The Japanese Region 2 DVD+CD LE release includes: 1) the Rozen Maiden ouvertüre DVD; 2) a Rozen Maiden ouvertüre bonus CD, "Suigintou no Koyoi mo Ennu~i" ~"Bara no Kaori no Garden Party"~ Bangai-hen ("Suigintou's It's Ennui Again, Tonight: The Garden Party of the Fragrance of the Rose" Extra Chapter) starring Suigintou, with Suigintou's Japanese voice actress (seiyuu) Rie Tanaka supplying all the voices heard on the CD (Megu is not on this one); 3) a "Suigintou no Koyoi mo Ennu~i" Index listing the tracks, the staff, and other credits; 3) a Rozen Maiden ouvertüre postcard, with Suigintou in the front on the right, Shinku slightly behind Suigintou on the left, and Suiseiseki and Souseiseki far behind to Shinku's right in the background; 4) an ad insert for the Rozen Maiden gebetgarten video game for Sony PlayStation 2; and 5) an ad insert for a Rozen Maiden ouvertüre Suigintou alarm clock and other Rozen Maiden goods.

Although maybe unlikely, will any of the bonuses and extras from the Japanese limited edition release by Pony Canyon of the Rozen Maiden ouvertüre Special make it to the North American release by Sentai Filmworks?

Now if Sentai happens to license When They Cry and it's sequals I want them to do the exact same thing they are doing with Rozen Maiden.

You have to wonder if with FUNi letting alot of the Geneon stuff expire, if Sentai will be licensing more?
Higurashi pretty please?

Don't think Sentai could have done this any better. I'll definitely be getting this.

2 eps. vs. 30+ eps.

The chance of that happening are almost nil.
Best you can hope for, if they actually decide to get the Higurashi series, is what they did with the You're Under Arrest and Hell Girl series.

Cool. I've been meaning to buy this one since Geneon, but never been able to get it due to my money issues. Will definitely get it soon as it comes out.

I'll buy this eventually. I only watched a couple episodes on youtube dubbed who knows how long ago so this will be a good chance to catch the entire series on DVD.

Considering how much of a train wreck Rozen Maiden was as an anime (Let's not have an ending so we can get a third season, whoops! Even the manga got cancelled!) This is just a case of Zombie ADV being dumb again.

Edit: According to the press release, they're releasing Ouverture separately and that they got the Bang Zoom cast back to dub it so that's even more good news.

FUNi, please pay attention. This is how you are supposed to handle OVAs/specials acquired with a license rescue.

Hear, hear. I'm sure there were a few people who went ahead and rebought Vandread just so they could get the OVAs (which from what I heard were just compilations) but I really think they could have made more money by releasing them separately.

I have the litebox version of both TV series so my first thought was "will they get Ouverture?". Now I can finally get rid of the fansubs.
