Absolute joke, if they never intented to finish the series off on blu ray dont even release it on blu ray, another series i've decided to buy on blu ray and now not able to complete, that makes 3 from MANGA.

Wont be buying any more part series on blu ray from MANGA ever now, waste of my money.

Manga did the same to two series before (FMA: B and Cashern Sins) and, frankly, they were deluded in thanking Xam'd would do any good.

Yet at the same time, people would be moaning if they Didn't release it on Blu-ray.

They're damned if they do, damned if they don't.

No, they damned themselves by making an aura of "We will never finish a series on blu ray".

It's a little thing known as PR and Anime Distributors could do themselves a favour to learn it in the UK.

imo they should do what some book publishers do and print to order.

no when they get an order they put it on BD and print up a box set/extras.

or tbh i'd rather they just move their UK team to Japan to add subtitle tracks to all the shows that crunchyroll and the like show so we brits can buy direct.

Which does not in any way avoid the original problem of the minimum print run for BDs. The only way to do smaller runs on BD is using BD-R.

So what are Manga meant to do then? Keep losing money for the sake of the fans? It's not just Manga, even companies like WWE are cutting back on their Blu Ray releases due to not so great sales.

If you REALLY want more Blu Rays of a series, then buy the first ones as soon as they're released...or if you can, import. ;P

I admire their desire to put out anime on BD in the UK.
What I do not desire is their poor business model.
If series like FMA: Brotherhood and Casshern Sins didn't do well and got canceled, why would a new IP with little hype behind it do better?
Taking the risk and canceling a series, for the third time, means they have lost all faith fans had in them, especially on Blu-ray.
That's a major thing to happen when the anime market in the UK is so niche.
I wouldn't mind if it was just poor luck, but it's just been poor selection of titles and poor decision making.
For that I have no sympathy with them.

Another example, a K-ON! set.
Do they live in other world from me where titles such as this shift loads of copies in the UK?
This isn't Japan they are releasing in...

Going to import this blu ray from australia now, its not that much more expensive than what i would have paid if it was to be released here.

Got a few other blu ray anime series on order also, didn't want to import anime as i wanted to support the UK industry but Manga has forced my hand Sad

The problem, along with Manga's bizarre business model, is anime distribution/licencing in general.

By the time Manga releases a series over here, it's likely fans have either watched it through streaming or imported from the USA.

Staggering release dates for US and European regions is unbelivably antiquated.

Games publishers seem to have got it almost right now, they've had all the problems Manga has now - why can't Manga/Beez/Funimation work towards simultaneous releases across regions? Licencing is tough admittedly, the Japanese anime studios certainly have a role to play in making it difficult for these guys.

Reform is needed!

Given BakaTest Season one was AB / 124, naw, I just need the importers.
