Well at least we can at least have the beggining done better than last time but i dont see the point in changing the cast as the original were solid. i would have preffered it continue where the last OVA's left off but at least this way we may have another chance of this property getting another dub. the staff besides the director isnt really making me excited however but for me what will really determin weather this is good is the composer of the music since the original was quite good (heres hoping for taku iwasaki).

This is interesting. I'm only familiar with the first few volumes of the manga but I wonder how this will be executed. From what I've read, the first series didn't really have a lot of filler. So I wonder if they are going to condense and move through the series, like FMA:Brotherhood did, until it gets to new material.

I also wonder what this means for the North American market. Considering Viz just put their set's out not too long ago and it didn't do as well as expected, I wonder if another company would try to license this. Even though having multiple versions of the same show through different companies can be a nightmare, not to mention rights/licensing issues, this show really has the potential.

Either way, I'm excited to check this out. I love what Hiroshi Koujina did with RAINBOW. I have no doubt this will be of fantastic quality coming from Madhouse with this name on it.

Now all that's left is hoping this gets a simulcast....

HxH did have a bit of filler during the Hunter exam but it felt in-place, it wasn't painful at all, so it didn't feel like filler.

I am really looking forward to this. I hope they do not condense the material too much, it's really... all good.

To be honest, I am kinda sad. I was hoping for a sequel with the same animators, director, and voice cast. I also liked the old animation, I hope that MADhouse does a good job.

Also, this new show BETTER cover the new arc of the manga, because if it doesn't, then there will have been no point to a remake in the first place.

now that doesn't make any sense, the first series and it's ova are so good, I don't see them make it any better.

I'm surprised, but no upset that it's a reboot. Hopefully we get a simulcast and of course a hardy copy US release.

I'm cautiously optimistic that with the new anime Togashi *might* be more inspired to finish the series.

Darn and after I just bought all four of Viz's HxH boxsets. Oh well. I'll still watch it. I'm kinda glad to see it be re-animated from the start but I don't see the point in replacing the original voice cast because the old one was just fine in my opinion.

Why I have the strange Brotherhoodish feeling... like they are gonna make the anime so it will end just one month later than the end of the manga....

So... another reboot/remake then?

I would have preferred if they had started from doing the first OVA, Genei Ryodan Arc than doing this. I thought the TV anime was done really well.

We'll see how it goes but now I'm far more likely to be unimpressed and disappointed than I was earlier. I loved the original cast and if the new cast doesn't measure up, well, it's going to be disappointing for sure.

The beginning of the original did have pretty bad pacing, almost made it a chore to get through. Not until near the end of the Hunter Exam did it really start getting interesting. About the only other thing this new version can improve on the original is to not tone down the violence.

M... M... MADHOUSE!?!?! Shocked

HOLY CRAP!

Is that mean the production value will be as high as FMA: BH!?

I mean, like Bones, Madhouse always provide high-quality animation.

Did Madhouse ever even done something like that in the past?

Hmmm, I can understand why they're doing this. They're trying to pull in a new group of readers who never got into HxH. That said, I'm honestly not too upset. My favorite characters are all pre-Chimera Ant and I'm curious to see what style Madhouse chooses to go with. I'll definitely miss the old voice cast though, but I'm confident their replacements will be able to put a slightly new spin of their respective characters, which can be fun.

EDIT: I think it's funny that this is labeled under "Interest" though. It seems quite newsworthy.

Madhouse also animated CCS, a 70 episode long series.
