"To so-and-so,
Sorry I'm not Hayao Miyzaki. -Hideaki Anno" Lol. Seriously though. Thats pretty cool both of them and that producer agreed to go and do this. |

A free screening of the new stuff?! Wow, that's nuts. It must be tougher for Anno, though, 'cus now he's gotta worry about the inevitable destruction scenes for the third Eva film.

I'd jizz my pants if I saw just one of them. Them together, who knows.

For some reason, the idea of Anno-signed Totoro doodles cracks me up.

That's pretty cool, I bet people really appreciated the sketches and signing.

So does Anno share Miyazaki's well-publicized sense of disgust with the state of modern anime? Just wondering....

I'd be very interested to know that, too. This is a really wonderful effort the three of them made. I'm sure at the very least it brightened some of the peoples' day to know these famous producers and company heads made the time and wanted to do anything they could.
I hadn't thought of that, but wow - you're probably right. I wonder if the Eastern Tsunami/Earthquake will affect how the remaining two films will proceed thematically. |

Anno signing Miyazaki sketches?
I'm reminded of a Comic Book Guy quote from The Simpsons: "That is a photograph of Sean Connery autographed by Roger Moore." |

Didn't they hang out in a desert once?
I'd like to see Yoshiyuki Tomino join them. |

Yeah, they did. It was for a NTV documentary special around 1998 about Miyazaki experiencing his dream of flying an old airplane like in the book of Saint Exupery and his meeting with people from the desert in Morocco. An expert of the documentary can be seen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aa36Wq3BL7k |
