Bacon wrapped hotdog? STAY AWAY, MIKU. STAY FAR AWAY.
Do they realize most of this commercial would only make sense to a very small percentage of the audience? I mean, the leek spin song? And why can't Miku speak English for the English commercials? I've seen people use the program to get Miku to sing in English, and even if she has the Japanese accent, it's not as weird as speaking Japanese w/subtitles to people speaking English.
This is hurting my brain. Miku could have totally been an awesome mascot, but I can't help thinking this plan was not thought all the way through.

they already made a commercial with her driving the car. this is just hype to draw in more people to watch it. that or they may make another one and this is just to make the fans excited or something.

I've only seen the commercials on TV once so far, and that was on an Asian channel.

Toyota isn't dumb, they seems to know the general public likely won't understand these ads. They've only been posting them to YouTube, airing them on Asian-oriented TV channels, and printing them in Asian magazines.
It would be quite weird to see these ads on a "mainstream" channel like NBC or CNN or something.

She says "Ikimashou!" at the end, which means "Let's go!", it's not weird at all. You better check that your speakers work correctly...

I'll admit that model is large improvement from the last few.

Why Not? Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

If it's any consolation, a "virtual idol" did make it on CNN.
But it's that AKB48 jailbait one.

Please! lets not start that debate again here.
"Bacon wrapped hotdog"? Something about that just seems wrong. No? Maybe it's just me then.

Bacon wrapped hotdog?
My mother used to make them for us when I was in high school. In addition, the hotdog was split and filled with chedder cheese. She used toothpicks to hold them together under the broiler.
I suspect that if I had one now my arteries would clog up immediately.

I like Hatsune Miku but that was retarded...
Why do people keep thinking it is an onion when it is a leek...

These are called viral commercials. Miku is highly known in an 'underground' sort of fashion. Having her put on American TV wouldn't really do much to help promote their cars... but if you put the commercial on YouTube, the viral king of websites, then news of her appearance will spread like wildfire and everyone will know about how Miku Hatsune is being used to advertise for Toyota Corolla.
It's actually pretty smart, to be honest.
